  1. His bags are packed. Driving I-90 east or taking a flight. He can be in Syracuse by game time.
  2. Please no. I can wait 1 more year and have him playing in the AHL. Doing exactly what Mitts is doing right, right now. 20 minutes a game. Important faceoffs. PK, PP One on one and lots of practice time with coaches devoted to him. That is the right way. If it doesn't happen right this time I will be very disappointed in Botterill.
  3. I'm betting that a team snatches him up today and puts him in their AHL team for a month for conditioning then he gets called up for a few games at the end of the season while rotating out starters for some rest before the playoffs. He's then the 7th d for the start of the playoffs. This is the best Bogo can hope for and I'm betting some GM somewhere offered that up to Bogo's agent. Buffalo will get a conditional 4th round pick if the club re-signs him to a contract.
  4. My scenario is that Boterill has tried to find a trade partner. Everyone wanted the Sabres to retain salary. Boterill just can't do that. Bogo's manager I'm sure has been calling around to see if there is any interest to try and get his client playing again. No luck. So they two parties chose to mutually part ways the only way that could work, which is putting him on waivers. Someone might be willing to take a chance since his salary for the remainder of the year is 1.5 mill (?) with no strings. Doubtful, but it's the only shot Bogo has of seeing the ice the rest of the season and he needed to go for it.
  5. As a side note to all of this. It was great to see Tim Connelly and how healthy he looks. So talented and a career to be cut short due to head injuries and to come back looking to be in a good place was nice to see.
  6. That really changed the tone of the game. McCabe broke his stick cross checking the back of him. That had to hurt. They don't wear that much padding that that didn't leave a mark on his rib cage. Hutton won't say anything but that had to inspire him to be better.
  7. So what happen to the previous leadership? Someone got fired over the last debacle? Interesting choice of words.
  8. Have you ever heard of a performer named Meatloaf? Dash board lights?
  9. Not sure which would be worse, you with this or Marylin Monroe blowing me a kiss. Both bring sweet dreams but I think you're both really teasing me.
  10. Someone needs to put a rubber band on Hutton. He leaves the crease and womp, right back in. Increase team confidence.
  11. For years after a good race I always slowly drank one of those big 32 ounce bottles of Gatorade on the way home. Just always thought it made me feel better than just water. Now I know it wasn't just my mind, my body really was thanking me.
  12. This story lead to a couple of us friends being reminded how a mutual friend that was in great shape and just finished a winter triathlon almost died the same way from cardiac arrest due to dehydration. What saved his life as with Bouwmeester was it happened in a public place and help was almost immediate. A little water goes a long way.
  13. I for one just find it hard to believe that Lafontaine was that smart and that devious to enact a plan of that magnitude, yet couldn't keep his job for 4 months.
  14. Let me guess.... It was overcooked limp pasty pasta on a cracked dish that was over priced and was only available half the season? If you where really lucky another patron would trade you a 2c for it ?
  15. Botterill isn't even Darcy bad, and Darcy almost got us a cup. Darcy had blind squirrel luck. TM had drunk Irish Luck. One was right twice a day, the other always was always changing the time.
  16. One is bumping the bilge and one is manning the ore, the rudder is vacant. But hay, what ever floats your boat! Sorry, couldn't resist the Titanic references! BTW, I have a few deck chairs for sale on Craig's list if there is any interest. ?
  17. It's happening 2 years later than it should, but it's being done right. You can blame Botterill for trying to rush his development by being on the big club, which is justified. But, Botterill also knew he made a mistake and did the right thing by sending him to Rochester. I'm willing to bet more times than not a GM in the same situation trades a player in the same situation. The other major point in all this, Botterill has assembled a decent coaching staff in Rochester it appears. There is very little success on the big club unless the players coming up know how to play. When is the last time we had a GM we felt had this going for him?
  18. Fogolin was a stud on defense, the defensive defensemen when Edmonton won cups. I picture his much younger double-ganger with Dahlin. Just how I imagine a balanced D-pairing I guess.
  19. So what your saying is …. Botterill wasn't to overly worried about losing him when he put him on waivers and he was never getting traded for … anything. But he was worth 4 pages of talking about... so there's that ?
  20. Inquiring minds want to know! How did you come up with animal abuse? That never entered into my mind. You holding out? ?
  21. Rob Ray brought this up during the game and laughed when he said it and muttered something about he could only tell it off the air. It's a must know story now. The story of Brian *Spinner* Spencer is horrifically fascinating in and of itself. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Spencer https://latimesblogs.latimes.com/sports_blog/2010/06/sports-legend-revealed-a-father-of-an-nhl-player-held-up-a-tv-station-to-force-them-to-show-his-sons.html A shout out to @pimlach for throwing it the game day thread, because sitting here this morning I knew I needed to remember something about last nights game....
  22. I see some more defensemen coming in to balance out the pairings. We have to many right shot smooth skating offensive defensemen. We need some yang to Dahlin's and Joker's yings.
  23. Pilut has not looked nearly as good this year. We have made really good strides on defense this season and in comparison to even Miller he just isn't strong enough to take on an NHL forward..
  24. That explains a lot. Shero played the role of GM more than coach. Good find Dallas.
  25. Physical teams that can score win. If this ever changes hockey will no longer be fun to watch. The Sabres are not physical nor can they score. They are not fun to watch. Correlation also?
