I think KA will have that discussion with KO. He may not want to go anywhere but if he does they may re-sign him (a la Tkachuk).

Makarov is the reason they changed the eligibility rules. He was almost 32 at the end of that season.

It will be a tough road but the Sabres are better and will be in the hunt. I think they fall short unless they avoid injuries and the goaltending is above average. I believe a lot of the non playoff teams have gotten better, which will erode points from the top teams. I don’t see the wide disparity in points like last season. Eight 100 point teams is unlikely, Boston and Washington will drop the most but Tampa is weaker and I feel Florida will drop a few points.

Power and Quinn having Seider/Raymond like seasons is possible, that would move this team up into playoff contention.

Dahlin, Power and Samuelson, the Big Three?

Maybe a year in WHL could help. He is probably squeezing the stick so tight. He should be scoring at this level.

Or the Leafs in the playoffs.

Östlund should be on the December team. It is crazy that Sweden has not won this title many times. They have had so much talent over the years and won most of their preliminary round games.

That was a wild finish! I am happy with the win but I would prefer 5 on 5 OT to decide a championship. At least it wasn’t a shootout.

Better than a shootout but yeah, only about 9 guys play in OT.

Great third period for Finland, tying up the game. Overtime here we come. Canada’s PP could have sealed the win but went 0 for 7.

There was some interference on that play but the refs hadn’t been calling much all game. Nice shot though.

Stankoven is 75% on draws for this tournament. He has meshed well with Johnson and Foerster.

Sjodin gets his first point of the tournament to put the Swedes up 3-1 with 3:00 to go. Nice snipe on his off wing.

If he turns into Ramsey that would be awesome.

I like Kulich, very solid looking for an 18 year old. He drives play, isn’t just a sniper.

Rosen scores on a nice shot to put the Swedes ahead 2-1 in the second. They won the draw and he skated in a few feet and fired a nice wrister.

All three Sabres prospects are in the bronze medal game at 4:00 PM.

The defense is much better with Power, Mule and Boosh. I am optimistic that Comrie will be good (middle of the pack), so the goaltending improved. The young forwards are improved and the rookie additions are better than the JAGs leaving. I don’t think Bjork makes the team so Sheahan could be his replacement. To @Weave point, we have seen some of these additions play half a season or more. The second half was with a few of these ‘adds’ so there is definitely an improvement there. In blending the ‘21 opening roster with the season ending roster I get a look more like: Peterka for R2, Quinn for Hayden, Sheahan for Eakin and Krebs for Caggiula. Power for Miller, Boosh for Pysyk, Pilut for Butcher and Fitz for Hagg. Comrie for Toker. It’s a better team.

So that’s why Tie Domi’s head was so hard.

TSN broadcast crew have been saying he is invited to the Sabres prospect tournament. Kris Baker tweeted this, quoting the same source.

Maybe we get a look at Leinonen this December, two of Finland’s three goalies are aging out.

He is an ‘02 born prospect, and is AHL eligible because he turns 20 this year. Bloom and Nadeau were also drafted in ‘21 but are ‘03 born, so they must return to the CHL. They have all signed their ELCs.
