Eastern arms race is nearly over. Most teams have spent their ammo. KA is still in on something. He is moving at a glacial pace but things are heating up. Still a day to go. Saros rumour is a good one. Do it!

Savoie is now 5th in WHL scoring. He was around 20th a month ago.

Saros would solve the goaltending issue immediately. Fabbro has more upside than Bryson/Clague, plus he is a RHD. I could get on board with this and I doubt KA would overpay since he is glacially patient. This would be a shot at all of the other teams competing for the WC spot, as a goalie like him is a game changer. It may even scare a team like the Bruins. I also like the Levi mentor angle, a lot.

Big game, no tougher opponent. The boys better come out strong, being flat just won’t cut it. We all know about Dahlin and Tuch, time for others to step up. I know it’s a cliche but that needs to happen. Honestly, I would settle for a loser point. Let’s go Buffalo!

I like the choice now, Quinn is on the verge of something special. I wanted Rossi at the time due to positional need. We may never know how he will turn out due to Covid complications. Perfetti is good but I have never liked his game. He seems like a pretty boy more worried about messing up his hair than an opponent’s breakout.

One guy that moved but did not seem on the block was Hronek. He could have helped as well.

His loss. He made a choice which was within his rights. I am old school, would try to play for the team that drafted (wanted) me when I was a nobody.

This is tough news. I find the drop off to rest of the D group to be huge. Tuch is important but not like Dahlin.

I brought up Irwin. I hope Stillman is better and that this is not the only move.

Chemistry quiz. KA has been talking a lot about character and wanting to be here. I know it is important but should it outweigh making moves? I hate the Leafs but am interested on how the playoffs go for them. They kept the core but brought in 6 new faces to date. More than 1/4 of the team is changed at the deadline. Is the culture of the core more important than the culture of the whole team? Does talent trump all? I still believe goaltending will be their downfall, but this much turnover could cause problems too.

They meet Columbus again in the last game of season. That game could mean getting in the playoffs. It would be great in many ways to win that one.

I disagree with a Norris level Dman not being able to help. He is fast enough to get there first, slippery enough to outmaneuver the forecheck, big enough to stand up to forecheckers and dangerous enough to make them think twice about what will happen. He also takes minutes away from all of those who can’t do it.

Dahlin would’ve helped because he would have the puck and they would be chasing him or backchecking.

I’ve mentioned Fabbro before. It doesn’t look like he has progressed in Nashville. He was an offense first Dman in the NCAA and Junior A. He’s been behind Josi, Ekholm, Ellis forever and now Carrier has seemed to pass him. A change of scenery might help, not sure if he is top 4, but you never know.
