  1. Plus Patches can sustain a “back injury” once Quinn comes back and we can Kucherov him for the playoffs.
  2. What’s Fischer’s game? Defensive forward/bastard to play against? Doesn’t look like he generates much offense.
  3. We love to be on the receiving ends of this nonsense for a change. Is his brother any good? Imagine having a McCarthy-squared line.
  4. Unless we get an offer we can’t refuse, we should just roll with Oloffson next season. He knows how to put the puck in the net. I don’t want to make another hole for a 2024 5th rounder or whatever.
  5. Heard it was on gym mats at One Bills Drive. Too soon?
  6. It’s a blow, but I don’t think it is in the way you present it. We can still improve by Cozens improving, JJP improving, and Mitts giving us a full 82 games. Krebs can improve as well. Remember, we were one of the highest scoring teams in the NHL last season and it wasn’t because Quinn put up 30-40 goals. He only potted 14. If we can tread water with what we have till January, while giving up less goals (the most important thing), I think we’ll be fine.
  7. I’m shaky on the AHL eligibility rules. Will Benson be able to play on the Amerks after this coming season?
  8. I think it depends on if the LHD Graves can play RHD. Outside of Dahlin, the myth that handedness doesn’t matter on the Sabres has been busted.
  9. Of course any late rounder doesn’t equate to Levi. It’s just the value we assign to draft pedigree is much different for goalies. That is, a goalie picked in the 5th probably has a better NHL chance than a forward picked in the 5th. You just don’t know what you’re gonna get most of the time. That said, the chances of any drafted player playing in the NHL is low. It’s mostly a numbers game.
  10. Thank God he wasn’t picked 212th in the 7th round. Then he’d really have no chance in playing in the NHL.
  11. Rules be damned, I knew we could somehow sneak Savoie on to the Amerks.
  12. Can’t say they ignored D in this draft. Interesting we haven’t had a single Russian picked yet.
  13. Everyone should read for perspective: https://www.nhl.com/news/anthony-duclair-overcame-injury-to-help-florida-get-to-stanley-cup-final/c-344640708
  14. Miedema administers a mid-ice miedema to Matthews.
  15. KA: “So kid, do you want to be a Sabre?”
  16. Another “fact” this is untrue. Are you going for a record? That, plus Adams really doesn’t seem like the type of guy who won’t like a player because he didn’t personally draft him. In fact, the same people who wanted Mitts are still with the team. Adams builds a consensus, not dictates.
  17. Shittiest news I’ve heard all week. Luckily I’ve heard we have some depth at Forward.
  18. There’s skill against peers, which Rosen no doubt has. But this doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be able to deploy this skill at the highest level of hockey. In order to do this, he’ll need a better understanding of this higher-level game and a more mature body. He’ll get there soon, but needs to dominate the AHL first, which he’s still trying to do.
  19. Ooooh, announcer called him Connor Benson at 0:50! Freudian slip.
  20. He gave the word and then basically gave its definition in the same sentence.
  21. But, knowing that the Sabres haven’t been to the playoffs in years, despite not wanting to be disputatious, he was clearly being disputatious.
  22. BPA. None of these players, including any of the Ds, were gonna help us this season. Not worried.
  23. I wonder what the cost will be here. I have no clue. Would next year’s 1st also be in play?
  24. If not in a package for a D, would love to grab an extra 2nd rounder, preferably an early one, for Olofsson. There’s decent depth in this draft.
  25. Duclair is a pretty good player…when not injured. He did fairly well after coming back from the Achilles injury.
