  1. KO actually kept us in some games down the stretch. He was an unlikely hero more than a few times. That said, I think this move is about changing things up. The momentum has definitely changed and they’ll try anything to change it.
  2. And why are we trading for a 34 year-old, who looks like he has never played a full NHL season. Is 2/3 of the season good enough?
  3. Anyone have a link of the uncensored pick? Not asking for a friend.
  4. Our preseason usually lasts until Jan 1st, so what’s a few games?
  5. I’d give McGoaty a handful of games in the NHL, but if he’s not blowing it up, then he’d have to agree to go down to Rochester. Likewise, if Savoie has a great camp, he should also be promised some games, but with no guarantees beyond that. I don’t see any risk with that, but only that it could piss off some prospects already in the system. So, one would have to be on the way out. On the flip side, I’m not sure if we really need another near-NHL ready prospect. We may need one in 2-3 years though, so 11OA may be the safer bet.
  6. Yeah, wasn’t on anyone’s bingo card at the start of last season. I would rather give him an extra million per year if he accepts 4 years ($6M x 4).
  7. Heavens to Betsy, it was a joke. You draft at higher positions, you have a selection of better players. Having the pick of litter will naturally make you look better. There’s some irony in there, but what he said may very well be partly truthful, as most jokes are.
  8. I agree with the above, but buying him out is a net gain in cap room. Maybe not to Terry, but to me there’s a financial gain. We gain a significant amount of cap space by doing this and will be able to sign someone of value.
  9. The biggest difference here is the extra cap hit of $2.4M in 29-30. The rest is the cost of doing business. An extra $0.44M each year. Not a backbreaker, especially considering Kevyn is up against the wall in terms of winning now. An accountant would say wait a year, a GM/coach that needs to win now would say move on now.
  10. That would be a bit much. There’s always a small handful players each draft that make it to the NHL as 18 year-olds. And more that make it at 19. All those players (basically stars in the making) would be sitting in juniors or Europe waiting to be drafted.
  11. I don’t think players would automatically gravitate towards good (ie playoff) teams. Players want to play, so they’ll likely go to teams that have potential spots open. That said, sometimes players have the wrong priorities and pick solely based on city. In the end, it should be a mix of factors: multiple spots open, stability of FO/coaching, make-up of the rest of team (they don’t want to go to a complete bottom dweller), and locale.
  12. Surly this isn’t the most affordable cities to live in the world. In fact, none of these would be within the United States, but rather in South America. That’s even if I exclude some very undesirable places, like Africa, India, and maybe even China.
  13. I’d say if Savoie or Kulich beat out Cirelli or Ek, the Kevyn is truly a magician, because I can’t see us trading for either one without one of the above going the other way. #11 alone won’t nearly be enough.
  14. But don’t they just report cap/contract numbers? I’m not as familiar with their offerings outside of just reporting cap numbers and salary comparables.
  15. And why would they want to buy this website?
  16. I think it could work too. We automatically assume that a late bloomer blowing it up his D+1/2 year would gravitate to certain desirable teams (ie playoff teams). Money wouldn’t be the reason as all ELC are pretty much the same. But, why would a prospect gravitate toward a winning team that has no possible opening for him? Would naturally make the bottom feeders a better place to sign such a player.
  17. This really is a laughable tweet. For all we know, it was this: “So Kev, should I get the Delmonico or the bone-in ribeye at the Chophouse?”
  18. And pull-ups. Most obvious Sabres target.
  19. Yeah, who would’ve thought we would done such a thing? If this is how we are reacting to Leone, just imagine if we hired Paetsch or Prospal.
  20. I would do it. Only on one condition though. Tkachuk actually wants to come here or is at least ok with the destination. Put it this way, suppose we could go back to 2021 and somehow the present day Tkachuk was available in the draft. Would we pick him or Power?
  21. I don’t get the sudden hate. I guess they are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. They reached out to a guy from outside the organization and it’s still panned. This guy may very well be a great hire.
  22. I can see them passing on Iginla too. There’s going to be sizable baggage with that pick. What if he’s not living up to expectations (ie. Not being Jarome) or if Daddy thinks they are using him wrong. You think he’s going to sit pat and not make some phone calls?
  23. Remember, your talking about the same guy who swore that Adams would rather let Ryan Johnson walk away as a UFA and take a compensatory last pick in the 2nd round of the 2025 NHL draft than to sign him.
  24. A head coach picking his assistants? That’s crazy talk.
  25. If so, more the reason he should’ve sat out the playoffs to heal. Not saying it wasn’t a horrific injury, just the timing is a bit suspect, especially for a team who has done this before.
