    Right now Demko is the best IMO. Linus is pretty darn close though. Did you get to watch the segment? Taylor claimed the organization was all in on Ullmark and giving him the full year here to fine tune his game. I had the pleasure of meeting Linus. He’s a great kid. You can’t help but root for him.

    They’re featuring Ullmark in their “American Made” segment. Taylor has great things to say about the kid. FWIW he’s referring to him as the A’s best goalie. He even made a comparison to Miller.

    I’ll start by thanking nfreeman for the kind gesture last week. You’re a good man, Mr. nfreeman. I finally met the one neighbor I haven’t met since we built the house 5 yrs ago. Her husband lost his fight with cancer right around the time we moved in. Two small boys. Anyways the little guys play hockey. Probably around nine and seven yrs old. I’d had plans on doing a diy ice rink this year and instantly have two regulars. I saw a plan for a pvc rink online that’s easy and reusable. The one little dude had a Rangers tuque on so I razzed him a little. He was all smiles. It’s not right that these boys don’t have their father. I’d be more than happy to skate around and play hockey with these little dudes. Currently sitting in the tub in the middle of lake effect. Two nice Friday’s in a row!

    I would love to see a storyline with Revan and Malak. Disney probably considers all that to be legend though. If they don’t include some of that stuff in what they’re trying to do going forward they will most likely lose the older fans. You can’t throw away everything and start it all over. Think how fantastic it would be if Snoke turns out to be another incarnation of Vitiate? If they go Old Republic they’d be fools to not use what’s already known.

    I saw my gastroenterologist today to learn the results of another ultrasound of the abdomen. Dude was super chill and not only found no tumors but had all sorts of positive findings from another round of blood tests. The liver function that has been declining for months is back to normal. There’s still a fatty liver even though I’ve drastically cut back on drinking but I am more than pleased. We’ll figure the rest out later. Something yada yada high iron levels but I can deal with that. I may be able to factually tell the other iron workers that I have iron running through my veins. Saw the Amerks win and I am in the tub with my wife and a home brew. Giggidy.

    Amerks win the shoot out. 7-6.

    Amerks were down 3-0 by 7 min into the game. Looked like trash. Taylor called a time out and chewed them out. Flailing the papers in his hand around like he was going to smack someone up side the head. End of 2 and Amerks lead 6-4. They scored 6 in the 2nd! Six different goal scorers with Guhle being one of them. He’s really played well with in the 2nd. Finally getting physical.

    Guhle had 2 assists and was much better. Nelson is still awful. He was the zweigle’s chorizo of Dmen. Ullmark had an assist on the OT goal. It was a wild 3rd. Shots on goal were 29-10. We mauled them like badgers.

    Vs Laval again tonight. Down 3-0. Tie it up with 37 seconds left. Win in OT. Awesome effort. Baptiste with 2 goals. Walked out with a package of zweigle’s chorizo sausage. Firing up the grill when I get home.

    MODO I’m sorry about your mom. I lost mine me to cancer in June. I know how up it is. My heart goes out to you and your family. But how about some hockey!? Hockey wasn’t nearly as fun without you man. The whole place was in a funk. Brother fighting brother. Talk of no hope for the future. I think they were all going through MODO withdrawals. Glad your back to lift them all up again. I like your sweater too. Linus has had good start.

    The Hip were huge where I grew up. Started listening in ‘88. Traveled from show to show when I was younger. Had a few opportunities to hang out with Gord and Rob at a couple Horde fests. Even burned one with them after a show. Can’t tell you how much the music and the man influenced my life. God bless his family. RIP man.

    I’ve become interested in officiating the past few years so I’ve been making note of officials at Amerks games where I can see the whole ice to get a sense of whether an official could legitimately tilt one way or the other. I think they can but am not positive I’ve seen a bias for anything more than a team with a mouthy jackass in the ranks or the rep to be one. Or Pat Kaleta.

    My wife started feeding a little stray last fall. She had obvious trouble eating so we took her in and brought her to the vet. Little Bear(looks like an Asian Bear) had a large growth on her tongue and a few other issues. She was also chipped! Vet called the owner who admitted dropping her off at my neighbors barn. Since she didn’t belong to us we couldn’t get her the surgery she needed. The owner didn’t want to give up ownership and requested she be euthanized. After a day of pleading with the bitch she finally agreed we could keep the cat. Little Bear is healthy, happy and one little spitfire of a kitty. Some people are just giant douchebags.

    They are definitely playing the same system. D very involved in the opposing zone. Guhle had 5 SOG. He definitely has that type of stuff to bring. He just needs to stop turning the puck over. I think he will be ok. Nelson doesn’t have the awareness for Housley’s system and McWilliams has too much goon in his veins. Maybe he’s just too slow and that makes him look goonish? I was somewhat surprised to see Baptiste with 8 SOG. He did a good getting in at rebounds in front. I’m not going to be a Debbie Downer on either team for a while yet. I’m not saying I can’t get to that point but I’ve seen enough good to give things more time. If the system is executed well enough it’s going to be fun to watch.

    I’m sure we were sitting on opposite sides of the ice so things look opposite handed to us respectively. I’d rather have the smaller Goers in place of McWilliams. Didn’t he take a stupid penalty with 3 1/2 mins left? No chance to pull Ullmark until 1 1/2 left? Nelson standing in place taking a high stick jab at a puck that was going out of the zone over his head giving the Comets free entry and a free shot on goal? Even if had knocked the puck down the whistle was going to blow.Utica’s D was stout and we still outshot them. I saw 3 get behind or over Demko just missing. I also saw 3 unbelievable saves from the kid. I’ll agree to disagree. What I’ve seen through two home games is miles ahead of the last 2 seasons.

    Guhle was lost. Turned the puck over more than once. Nelson had no idea where he was on the ice and McWilliams took moronic penalties. They could have easily won that game though. The offense is there. Simply wasn’t any D. It looked piss poor because they lost. Oh and some rookies looked like they need some more adjustments. If Demko wasn’t such a stud last night Amerks win that game 4-2.

    A 2-0 loss to Utica tonight. First goal was an ugly one with Linus out of the net. McWilliams was a train wreck and Casey Nelson has no place in pro hockey. They played well despite those two. Out shot them and had enough barely miss to have won it easily. Tonight was the best hockey I’ve ever seen from Bailey. Even more so than opening night and he scored two goals then. He was unbelievably fast. Accelerating right past skating d men from a stand still. He was taking charge every shift. Hitting everything. Had a nice hit to finish a shift right at the bench before he stepped off. CJ Smith has some good wheels too.
