What holes? Most of the goals against were due to the mistakes in front of him, not his whiffing. I’d take him over Hutton.

I hope the find a spot for Houser in the organization. I wouldn’t mind him backing up Ullmark, but they probably won’t do it. Tokarski and UPL are the only goalies under contract, and they’re likely destined for Rochester, unless the Pegulas force Adams to play UPL on the Sabres.

I have the same sad and upset feelings I had when they wouldn’t agree on a contract with Michael Peca and traded him.

I’m very sad. Sounds like without surgery Jack thinks it could endanger his future quality of life, not just career.

I’m wondering since the Amerks have 4 games left, can Houser go down and play with them? Kris Young, the Amerks video coach, was their backup goalie last night. 😳

Most of those goals weren’t Houser’s fault. Maybe one from the point. Sloppy play by the D. Bryson needs to sit out the last game, he’s been bad for the past few games.

Would you rather be on a good team and not play, or be on a bad team and get regular minutes to prove you can play?

I’m 60 and use a wheeled bag. I need to save my energy for the ice. My warmup is getting dressed. I’ve pulled a muscle tightening my skate laces. Plus the bag is more compact than the long ones. I have an old CCM bag which is no longer made, so I have to occasionally fix the zippers.

Neither of the Amerks goalies are even AHL quality. Christopoulos was pulled in the 1st period. They should at least put Houser back in Rochester and put one of these scrubs on the taxi squad.

Unless the Sabres trade Risto, I don’t see them picking a D with their first pick. If they get the first overall, I could see them swapping picks with another team like Columbus to get a goalie, and then pick one of the best forwards.

If Ullmark resigns they’ll probably get a cheap backup and put UPL in Rochester for another year, unless he shines between now and opening day. Anyone else worth being a #1 would be too expensive. Better chance at trading for one.

Are there oil wells in Olean?

As you noted at the end, those 3 are not their 5th best forward. More likely their 7th or 8th when the youngsters are considered. But those 4 D are a solid core, and then you include Bryson, Samuelson, and even McCabe, and that’s a playoff caliber D.

A young physical D is harder to replace than a middle level winger.

I would go with 8 players and protect Risto as the 4th D, and expose Thompson, Bjork, and Olofsson. Any one of them can be replaced easier than Risto as a veteran D, who also would have greater trade value if it comes to that. Ruotsalainen can replace Olofsson as the PP sniper if needed.
