Keith Tkachuk was born and raised in America and as I said, is probably one of the five best Americans to ever play hockey. He is American, his sons are American, his wife is American, and his daughter is American. The Tkachuk’s are American and will go down as America’s greatest hockey family. The common denominator is that in both instances Tkachuk laid big hits and the other player got pissy. He’s done a lot of punk things, but you literally haven’t brought any of them up. The incident you referred to in the original post I replied to was done by Brady Tkachuk. Either Tkachuk would immediately be our second best player and would likely be most Sabres fans favorite player.

Keith Tkachuk is probably one of the five greatest American hockey players of all time. Matthew and Brady are also both Americans. I think you’re wrong on the majority of your post, but my biggest issue is calling a red blooded American hockey player Canadian. Also, Drew Doughty is (was) one of the best defenders in the league and Tkachuk played him physical and none of what you’re talking about re: McDavid happened. All that happened what Doughty looked like a chump.

I understood what you were saying, but plenty of players would have Kassians numbers playing the role he plays. He doesn’t contribute to his numbers on the scoresheet, he jusy acquires them. The Sabres need drivers, which Tkachuk is, but Kassian is a passenger.

Someone should get Kassian a helmet that fits. There’s a massive difference between a Tkachuk and Kassian. That’s like saying Buffalo should get a Marchand or Matt Martin type

We have four top six players (Eichel, Samson, Skinner, Olofsson), one third liner (MoJo), and a bunch of overpaid fourth liners. We need at least four new forwards (Casey and Thompson might be able to play the third line but I don’t believe so). We won’t get find two top six players this offseason. Maybe we can get two middle six guys, but that’s just going to wind up having another ***** second line waiting for someone to take their spot. This team is monumentally ***** and that isn’t even going into our supposed strength of defense.

That B’s roster only had 5 with the youngest being 23.1

I just looked at Boston’s roster from last year—12 drafted players, 5 free agents, 3 acquired in trade. 8 contacts above $5m, 6 RFA all below 1.5m, 7 contracts between 650k and 2.75m. I think that lines up pretty well with my ideal breakdown. But again, this can’t work for a rebuild, there needs to be foundation.

How many teams have 10 players under 25 though? I would think it isn’t too many. I agree you can’t build a team based off of that drafting but that’s about where most playoff teams probably have their roster configured.
