Where do you stand on GMTM and Bylsma, the only tandem to produce a competitor in the modern era of Sabres hockey?
-
You’re ***** wrong about GMTM but I agree here. No no no.
-
Give me a GM resume that didn’t make a mistake. I swear this fan base has no clue what progress looks like.
-
He was the GM. Give me evidence he had nothing to do with the decision. Give me evidence he didn’t do the correct thing in believing in his scouts to do their job.
-
Totally blacked out out on his firing but correct. Nine NHL players in three years. THAT’S good drafting. Put some respect on his name. The Fasching deal was bad. They traded Robyn Regehr for two seconds then trade them for Fasching and Nic Deslauriers. Fasching failed and was traded for two NHL failures. Deslauriers was traded for Redmond who did nothing in the NHL but Nic D still has an NHL career right now. Totally. Definitely discredit the GM for your own confirmation bias. No problem there.

This is lazy. From 2014 to 2017 he drafted: Samson Reinhart, Brendan Lemieux, Jonas Johansson, Victor Olofsson, Jack Eichel, William Borgen, Alex Nylander, Rasmus Asplund, Brett Murray, Casey Mittelstadt, Ukko Pekka-Lukkonen and Jacob Bryson. All of them are still in the NHL. With the Ducks he also had heavy influence in good drafts.
-
He was fired too early and should have a statue atop the Electric Tower.
-
At this moment it’s Power vs Beniers with a heavy lean towards Power for me.

If voting gets me a kiss I’d pick nfreeman because I think his hateful obsession with me would make it the most passionate encounter I’ve ever had. That man probably has a few pictures of me somewhere. I kinda like it.
-
Liger or Brawndo. I’d kiss them both.
-
You’re terrible at this whole posting thing and your opinions suck.
-
He’s their one and only, it seems. I remember how badly GMTM was trying to trade up for him. I miss GMTM.
-
I think if all this were accurate they wouldn’t have finished dead last. If Mittelstadt was actually playing “extremely well” as 2C, Reinhart was playing “excellently as a 1C,” Bryson ... Asplund ... so on.
-
It’s about right now. Not what you did in 2014. Tom Wilson has never had more than 44 points in a season. Brad Marchand has had more than that eight times including four seasons of 85+ points. They’re not even close. Makar is a guy that’s getting close for me since he’s out it together on more than one occasion. Fox will need to do it again for me to really be sold but he’s definitely up there.
-
Kopitar’s contributions to the Kings have certainly shown up in the standings. The Caps have been solid even without Ovi in the lineup at times. He’s still around that top 15/20 range but he’s not THAT dude. Tom Wilson is nowhere near the top 10. He’s probably not top 50.
-
I keep assuming they’ll miraculously bounce back but it turns out none of the kids are reaching their potential.
-
I know you’re trolling with Wilson so I’ll ignore that one but I think you’re a few years behind on Ovi and Kopitar.
-
I honestly didn’t realize he was on the bench as an assistant in Detroit. Probably not going to catch many fish coaching that squad.
-
Just a friendly reminder that the salary cap is made up and if you need to make changes you can always make changes. This team is an absolute bottom feeder. You’d need every single “kid” to turn into a bonafide NHL starter right away for the team to make any sort of meaningful progress without other outside adjustments. For the record: worse contracts have been moved.
-
I’m very confident GMTM was let go too early. I can’t get there with Bylsma but I could see the argument.
-
I get all of this but you can’t ignore the impact a lost season due to injury can have. I might not rely on him as a top 20 player going into next season.
-
We need far more than the few middling tweaks you mentioned. You’re not the only fan here to hold this position and I’m not sure how after watching the way this season unfolded.
