  1. No, not particularly. What’s best for the team may be to send him to the West so for the “best” deal to be in the East it’d have to be higher than the others.
  2. I think you send him where the best deal is but if it’s in the East it has to be higher than other offers. Ideally it ends up being somewhere not-so-fun just for the hell of it.
  3. As a Raptors fan I enjoyed the Kawhi situation much more.
  4. This is actually a good comparison.
  5. I’d be in on this return IF we either take the second out and put in Kempe or just add a small piece from us to land Kempe.
  6. There’s been a fair amount of discussion around getting Tkachuk in return for Eichel on here but a Samson deal could be feasible, too. We definitely have to add to it but there are avenues. I wonder if a Samson and Risto for Tkachuk deal has any legs?
  7. Considering D’s love for this show (according to his Twitter) this was most likely intentional haha
  8. This is the type of thought-provoking content you don’t find on many other forums. Good work and well laid out.
  9. Prefer Lindholm but Monahan seems likely to be a guy they move
  10. It feels like you haven't followed professional sports for ... a decade?
  11. I'd be pretty shocked if it ever came out that they held up a process this massive so they could hire more assistants.
  12. So far we've specifically heard the Calgary Flames, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild and New York Rangers as teams that would have and do have interest.
  13. 1. Gibson's contract is a nightmare and you'd have to pray to the heavens he bounces back. 2. I don't feel confident you're getting Byfield AND Turcotte, let alone both AND their high pick this year. 3. Seattle isn't trading their 2022 1st for just about anything, let alone Rasmus Ristolainen. 4. Ew. I like Schmidt but he's on a big contract and that's not good value at all.
  14. Maybe. That deal is a ton of value.
  15. No, probably not. It’d be nice to get the moon but we also have to be realistic on approach.
  16. The qualifying offer thing isn’t an issue. He’d get that much on a long-term contract anyways.
  17. Thank you for this. I’m not really concerned by the videos but it’s something that good coaching and culture can work on. His point totals have taken a step back but so has everyone in Calgary. The 30-goal season was when Calgary had an offensive explosion and everyone thought they had arrived. I still have a lot of interest in him as a piece to a larger deal. I also have a lot of interest in Andersson because he’s a young RHD.
  18. He could. Or he could make it very obvious he doesn’t want to be here (like he already seems to be doing). That’s not good for anybody and the Sabres would be stupid to try to ride that out.
  19. You keep saying this and have yet to provide context or evidence. Also, he’s 23. He’s not on the decline. He also doesn’t need to be Eichel - that’s why you get other pieces in the deal.
  20. The “why not” is fairly obvious at this point. He’s not happy and a year from now he can take control of the entire situation by telling the team to ***** off. Teams don’t win in those scenarios. Goodbye, Jack.
  21. This team can’t afford to take chances. You sign him to a one-year deal and the best-case scenario is you have to negotiate all over again but this time in the middle of the season (can’t afford to wait until the offseason at that point). Worst-case? Well, you lose him for absolutely nothing which must be avoided at all costs. Most likely? You have to trade him at the deadline when values fluctuate a lot and generally don’t match offseason deals because of the pure rental market.
  22. Luckily the team has a lot of control there so they’ve got some time to further ***** that one up.
  23. When you look around the league New York and LA are the most logical teams if you’re looking for picks/prospects but if it’s a “hockey trade” Calgary far and away makes the most sense. Jack and Risto for Tkachuk, Monahan and Rasmus Andersson (a RHD!? Unheard of!). That’s my final answer.
