  1. Dahlin has shown me enough for me to want to commit long-term before he takes that next step. I don’t believe they should. There’s still plenty of bust potential here.
  2. Shhh. It’s okay to heal and just say “***** Tom Brady” under your breath in silence.
  3. If it’s a bridge deal it’ll still be $5M+ methinks. If it’s a long-term deal it’ll hopefully land between $6-7M.
  4. I don’t know about projections but I do remember a fair amount of hope on the Ottawa end. At this point as a Sabres fan I don’t really EXPECT to be better than anybody. We’ve been hot garbage for so long now.
  5. Update: the first tiebreaker is now just regulation wins. Buffalo has 10. Anaheim has 11. NJ has 14. Vancouver has 13. When it gets to ROW they have no shot at the tiebreaker. The third tiebreaker is wins, period.
  6. There are 56 games. But this did make me realize they probably have clinched top two because they can’t pass NJ or Vancouver in ROW (they could have when I started this so I didn’t consider it in standings). I’ll leave them on there because I don’t actually know what the league tiebreakers are in this strange season.
  7. Surpasses the Sabres next season? They already surpassed us. We’re literally last. And it wasn’t an accident.
  8. Same. He’s the only reason I ever left.
  9. We’re really getting to the brink here. Down to three teams and one of them has 12 games to get 1 point.
  10. Ban me, daddy. I know you want to.
  11. It was most definitely a Siri autocorrect.
  12. Posted in another thread but obviously more relevant here: Jake Virtanen of the Canucks are on leave because of a sexual misconduct allegation.
  13. He 23 which is still younger than a good number of draft picks this year, last year and the year before that. Risto and Edmunds are not comparable this is dumb. Yes it is. I’m the one making the point. I know what point I’m making. 😉
  14. He is a veteran at 22. That is the point being made.
  15. He was Pro Bowl-level down the stretch after getting healthy. The injury definitely played a role in early-season struggles which were definitely there.
  16. I haven’t been frustrated by anything on this forum since returning but the Risto comparison is incredibly stupid. You obviously want Tremaine to cut down on missed tackles but he’s a guy that’s involved in most plays and he’s been the leader of good defenses since he stepped onto an NFL field. Also of note: there are exactly 40 players in this year’s draft (including multiple players already drafted) that are older than him. Speaking of which: happy early 23rd birthday to the under-appreciated Tremaine Edmunds who turns 23 next year. Buffalo likes to pick a random player or two on all their teams to run out of town. Tremaine is closer to Ryan O’Reilly than he is to Rasmus Ristolainen.
  17. This is definitely a hockey forum with how far off the collective evaluation of Tremaine Edmunds is. If they were to put him on the trade market every single team in the league would come calling and they’d have a selection of firsts to choose from.
  18. Holy ***** this is a bad take. Basham is a guy that should be able to have a high snap count right away. His weakness is in the run game so there’s a chance he’s a guy that plays end on early downs but moves inside as a pass rusher in passing situations. He’s got the power to play right away.
  19. He doesn’t have to do that to have an impact. He has great command of this defense after getting the mic at 19 years old. He’s a leader that is a steadying force in the middle.
  20. You’re high.
  21. My position isn’t that Granato isn’t doing any worse than another coach could but he certainly isn’t doing any better. We’re getting bare minimum production and the needle hasn’t really moved aside from the team being worth watching because younger players are featured in more prominent roles now. Granato was never a good candidate in my eyes (though he is qualified for a shot as a HC) and has done nothing to change that.
  22. Tremaine Edmunds has been a monster and this fan base is completely lost on their evaluation of him. Very well worth the 16th pick.
  23. He definitely wasn’t the top edge guy and was never a fit for the Bills (he’s more of a 3-4 OLB). Also, notice how every edge rusher is extremely tall. He’s 6’2 which ain’t short but it ain’t that kind of tall.
  24. I've always been weary of one-year wonders but there's so much potential here. It's a guy that played safety/wide receiver in high school but he's now a 6'7 monster off the edge with versatility to move inside. But I get why there's a lot of angst. The one year. The tape looks like a guy who plays too high and just relies on his size to make plays which simply won't work at the next level. BUT he had 15.5 sacks in a single year which is a TON. We constantly see that the Bills aren't getting sacks but then you hear "oh but it's okay they get a ton of pressures and move the QB out of the pocket." Okay, cool, but when the QB is Pat Mahomes and he can throw out of the pocket it does nothing for you if you can't finish it and bring him down. On tape you see Rousseau did get a number of sacks because he finished plays being made by other players. If the pocket moves in his direction that's when his size comes into play and he just eats guys alive. So this is EXACTLY the type of player the Bills need. Maybe not the best individual pass rusher but when you're trying to build a line he is the finisher.
