Lehner is the starter and the future starter until he does something the prove otherwise. He should be starting as many games as his health allows right now.
  2. Andrew Peters (yes that one) on twitter: NHL announcing relocation to Las Vegas for 16-17 season? Carolina Hurricanes maybe? Sounds like he's hearing something.
  3. I think it should start after this season ends. This one started earlier because the entire conversation was about next year's Bills due to the coaching search. That's not the case this year. I think you're right there. I think his comment on football was that he doesn't understand football much or didn't util a few years into his football broadcasting career.
  4. Probably because they use network guys only and most of them are multi-sport guys. Hockey has dedicated hockey announcers or people who are hockey first. Joe Buck hates football and has said so in the past.
  5. What if the NHL just ordered standings based solely on goal differential?
  6. I think every major pro league in America makes baffling and stupid decisions on a daily basis. I don't get it. Common sense, please.
  7. They claim with a plan for violence. The protesters at the school did not. From what I know about the situations. That's a very important distinction about who these people are and what their intentions are/were.
  8. I like this to an extent. The current system is fine with me, but I wouldn't mind a system that progresses as the OT goes. Each team gets one possession. You can kick a FG or go for a TD and kick an extra point on the first possession. On the second possession it's the same but now you have to go for two. On the third possession it's TD or bust and you must go for two.
  9. This isn't totally inaccurate. That article indicates, as I have several times, that they were unarmed until they were attacked.
  10. Entry-level contracts don't slide for players 20 or older. That's why college players have their contracts kick in the second they play in the NHL/AHL.
  11. So if the president doesn't impact the economy as much as most think (which I believe to be true), then wouldn't their great impact be in the way they use their voice to push for change? For social justice? If that's the case then President Obama is the greatest president of my short lifetime. And I suspect that he is and will be recognized as such down the road.
  12. Bold are the important edits. A student protest is still the difference here. Mine either. I don't know that anybody is saying otherwise. I'm outrages that the general public doesn't feel similar outrage or use similar outlets for their outrage when it comes to discussing whtie vs minority protesters/terrorists.
  13. N'eo, this exercise is proving nothing. Of course people from all races have committed acts of terror. Most of the time, they're treated as terrorists (as they should be). That doesn't do anything to prove whatever point it is you're making. We can sit here all day and post pictures and memes from various violent/non-violent events from the past. What would it do? Nobody is arguing that one race is incapable of committing acts of terrorism while another is.
  14. They weren't taking anything over. They were standing outside. They shouldn't have been because of moral standards, not because of the law. They're equally stupid. Is that good enough to satisfy you? :p
  15. The two situations simply are not comparable. Both situations are wrong and both situations feature idiots. They're not similar, though. The Black Panthers, a group I find to be vile and hateful, were not occupying anything and weren't holding guns. They were also two people. Versus, what, 30 people? One is a public protest, the other is a takeover of a private government building. Both dumb.
  16. You find two people standing outside of a building to be comparable to a group of armed men taking over a government building?
  17. Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger The Oilers are believed to be close on a multi year extension for goaltender, Cam Talbot. Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC Cam Talbot extension in Edmonton is expected to be three years, in the ballpark of $3.5M AAV.
  18. Snide is a term reserved for indirectly disparaging remarks. I think I was pretty direct. :P When I'm an jerk I try to be direct about it. Also, I think you're missing a few very key points on the link you posted They weren't armed until they were attacked. It's NOT a public building. It's a private building on a private campus. They weren't attacked by the government because it was a student protest on student grounds. Not a protest against the government on government grounds. It's simply not comparable, in my opinion. The steps taken in Oregon have been taken by a group of privileged fools fighting for something that is mildly wrong, at best. If minorities were to take a similar action they would be FAR more justified because the injustices they're fighting against are getting hundreds of people killed. I would still think taking over a government building with guns is the wrong way to fight for your cause, but it'd be more justifiable. However, if minorities were to do this you'd see nothing but people calling them "n**gers" and "thugs" and calling for them to be removed with deadly force. (Just to be clear - I haven't called for violence against the group in Oregon. In fact, I've called for mostly the opposite)
  19. My feelings on different levels of accountability are pretty clear and align with your feelings that they're uneven. I just think we hold different views on who is held accountable and who isn't.
  20. You're one of the smartest posters here, maybe THE smartest. But you do this every now and then and it really takes away from everything you do. It's a rambled mess of condescension. Maybe being straightforward and less snide about the way others think would be more effective. Especially when you've given off an impression that you'd like to and attempt to learn the ways people from other walks of life feel, experience and think.
  21. That's a school story of a student protest. Thanks for sharing. Now back to on-topic: man, this Oregon stuff is dumb.
  22. If you continue to treat situations like this as non-terroristic then you'll continue to see the difference between how a white group of terrorists are treated and how a minority group of terrorists are treated.
  23. Ah cmon True, this was perfect.
  24. Alright, I'll concede. Aaron Rodgers and Larry Fitzgerald could make that play.
