To quote D4rk: But, I know. Thi board is great. There's just an excessive amount of complaining sometimes. Not everything is terrible.
-
Duff just referred to a scar on McGinn's face as "facial warts" and then immediately started looking uncomfortable. To be fair, this board hates and whines about everything. There's no moderation, either. The trend seems to be to either absolutely hate something or are indifferent about it.

I still think he's good. And I still think they need to stop the simulcast. He's a TV guy. Let him be that. Only one other team in the NHL has simulcasts.

The President will sit down with Bernie Sanders in the Oval Office tomorrow morning. Interesting.

The bolded is your answer.

That was a good challenge. It was close. A lot of traffic right on top of Lehner.

I wouldn't want that to be interference against us but Z did interfere by definition there. McCabe needs to clear the front better.

My post actually started as a general sports statement and then I went with the 40-game timeline. Regardless the point stands.I consider them rare. One or two times a year it very rare. This isn't to say concussions aren't dangerous as hell and scary. They're common and can ruin lives, but we're still not at the point of keeping guys out for extended period of times consistently with concussions. I've had a concussion or two in my day. Playing high school football has left me partially traumatized when I watch the high-speed NFL hits. My ears still ring a little when I see a big helmet-to-helmet hit. I get annoyed when these guys slap each other in the helmet...
-
I would. There's hundreds of concussions a season. Only a very select few result in players sitting out over 40 games.
-
I highly doubt Ennis is out for the season. Concussions are rarely season ending.
-
Ennis hungry?

Tyler Dunne of TBN: Asked Doug Whaley if the #Bills would seriously consider a QB early. He cites Taylor/Manuel in final year of deals and says "Absolutely."

Sounds like Hudson Fasching...

The top six around this point last season: Moulson - Ennis - Girgensons Stewart - Hodgson - Stafford Flynn - Mitchell - Gionta Beginning of this year: Moulson - O'Reilly - Ennis Kane - Eichel - Gionta McGinn - Larsson - Reinhart I mocked up last year from the January 27th game based on TOI, so it's not 100% accurate but it was some iteration of that group...

I do think getting the endorsement from South Carolina rep/lawyer for Walter Scott could be a big one for him getting more of the minority vote.

Question for those that know more than me (basically everybody): a few days ahead of the Iowa caucuses is the feeling still that Bernie Sanders isn't electable?
-
It would be the third season in a row but they're not going to be historically bad. This team has improved. It's obvious to me. It's not a quantum leap that many seem to have wanted or expected despite how nearly impossible that has been in the HISTORY of hockey...

It's not crazy to actually be encouraged by where this team is at. I'm very encouraged for several reasons. Jack Eichel has looked like a true franchise center piece at times and you can see why so many of us were drooling over McEichel. 5-13-18 in his last 17 games. Sam Reinhart looks like a player who will earn his status as a top-five draft pick. The kids seem to really like each other, too. Risto's development has been a HUGE positive. We need defense and we need offense from our defense. He's been significantly better. Ryan O'Reilly looks like a true leader. One of the rare leaders that is consistent and willing to jump in front of a train for his team. Give him the C as soon as possible. Thank you, GMTM. Pysyk and McCabe have been inconsistent but both seem to have a future in this league. Great news for filling out the back end. And, obviously, progress has still been marginal all around which will likely lead to another high-end pick. Still not pulling for losses but they're not upsetting anymore as long as the team shows signs of being into it. An odd one that I'm not totally convinced I feel but have thought about: the team's struggles are a good sign for GMTM and the brains of this organization. GMTM put a ton of work into this team but he warned everybody it wasn't going to be a major improvement. He didn't expect playoffs. While a ton of fans (even me) were expecting so much more GMTM was able to look at the roster and know there is still a lot of work to do. He didn't fool himself and didn't fool anybody. He told it how it was and how it is. He knows this roster needs work. He'll continue to work on it.

Hadn't seen the first one before posting. Let me look... Wow. That was impressive. Nice move, shield the puck with the body and then make the play. Nice.
-
That Eich pass to Zemgus on his second goal was a beauty
-
It just took me over a minute to find out the Sabres scored... Brian Duff, without much excitement, said "Zemgus goes up and over Henrik." Then Rob Ray went on a rant about Jack Eichel drawing the attention away for Zemgus to "make the play."

I've kind of taken to enjoying the radio when Dunleavy is doing the game. But this is terrible.
-
Brian Duff is brutal. Is he doing television PBP, too?
