  1. Adult roommates has been a good prequal to having children aka I'm never going to have children these people.
  2. He is subject to it because his contract can slide in Rochester but not Buffalo.
  3. Are you sure? They traded for Martin Erat, after all. Just kidding but that really might be the worst trade in recent memory.
  4. The Steelheads aren't doing anything. He's not their property. He was loaned to the Steelheads by his European club. The Stars went through the same thing with Julius Honka but just sent him to the AHL and Swift Current had nothing to say about it. Honka did not get the nine-game tryout but there's nothing stopping Nylander from getting it. I know there was a tweet saying the Steelheads will loan Nylander to Rochester, but everything I see strongly says they aren't actually doing anything and can't do anything in respect to Nylander's future.
  5. Ennis - O'Reilly - Okposo Kane - Eichel - Reinhart Moulson - Girgensons - Bailey Foligno - Larsson - Gionta Deslauriers Kulikov - Risto McCabe - Bogosian Gorges - Franson Lehner - Nilsson I'm confident Bailey is ready and able to play third-line minutes in the NHL right now. I know many others aren't, but I'm willing to slot him in there. Nylander probably gets a nine-game tryout and has the SKILL to play in the league but it's tough to imagine he's got the size or strength to do it. Guhle and Casey Nelson both have shots to make the team and could slot into the bottom pairing over Gorges and/or Franson. Carrier will probably get a look this year at some point on the left side. If Lehner goes down I imagine Ullmark gets the call to start over Nilsson. That's what I'm looking at barring any major changes.
  6. Permanent LTIR. I may be wrong but I believe you still have to be under the cap at the beginning of the season INCLUDING the LTIR players since they don't get placed on LTIR until the season starts.
  7. I would have too but you can't assume we had the chance to. We're in the same division as Florida. Them flipping Crouse to us is pretty unlikely.
  8. Arizona takes on ANOTHER bad contract as the Panthers trade Dave Bolland and Lawson Crouse to them for a 2nd and 3rd round pick.
  9. James Mirtle @mirtle Blues sign Mike Weber to PTO.
  10. I guess I watched it with the knowledge that Superman just isn't a good character and not with the hope that he would be a fulfilling character for once. When you get beyond that I think they did a very good job considering what characters they're working with. We all know every single superhero in these movies is untouchable. They'll never die. But Superman is presented as such in the movies which is redundant. We get it, he's all powerful and unkillable.
  11. I think there's little doubt this is the case. And it'll eventually swing back the other way. Regardless of where you stand one could argue that you're being too sensitive. Words offend both sides. One side is offended by the state of language and the other is offended by the attempt to evolve language.
  12. 2 UTIs > U2
  13. What's so wrong with the movie? It's a superhero movie and I thought it did things every other superhero movie does wrong but got a ton right.
  14. Finally got out from under a rock and caught Batman vs Superman. I don't get the hate. I thought it was great and stands up there as one of the best modern superhero flicks for me. Affleck played the perfect Batman that he was asked to. Doomsday was pretty generic but the battle wasn't bad overall. Wonder Woman is wonderful (see what I did there?). Eisenberg wasn't terrible as Lex Luther Jr. The score was a pleasant surprise.
  15. I knew you were joking but I also figured many people could use it. Also, the term "band" is offensive in this contact. There are plenty of people who identify as "bands" and actually have a right to the term. U2 does not. Just a group of people making noises and playing it safe their entire careers. You don't have to always be an offensive . The proper term here is "overrated never hasbeens."
  16. Not really, no. The Steelheads have no say. It's the same case as Honka.
  17. I don't have any articles off the top of my head. That'll have to be something you look into both with Internet searches and actually speaking with members of the community.
  18. Pansexual = can literally love anybody who identifies in any way. This is different from bisexual because bisexual people are mainly only open to males and females. Pansexual individuals are open to transgender, intersex, whatever. Transsexual = somebody in transition from their born sex to the gender they identify with. It could also be somebody who has fully transition but prefers to identify as trans still. Transvestite = offensive term that is often used to insult transgender individuals but actually never had anything to do with transgender people. It actually was largely for drag queens (males who enjoy dressing as females but do not identify as females). Cross dresser = somebody who dresses in the clothing of the opposite gender. Some feel it is offensive as it infers that clothing are gender specific but it's worth considering that the intention of drag queens and kings is to appear to be the opposite gender anyways so it's probably safe to use. Transfeminine = somebody born male who identifies more with femininity than masculinity but does not fully identify as female. Transmasculine = the opposite of the above. Draq queen = see cross dresser. Chaz Bono = U2 is the worst Bonus term! Cisgender = you and I. Somebody who identifies with what they were born with. You'll rarely hear this unless it's relevant to the conversation.
  19. I don't believe they do. The Stars termed it as "loaning" Honka to the AHL but Swift Current had no say in Honka's ultimate destination.
  20. I deleted it because I knew the extreme sarcasm would lead to serious responses. We really are sitting here responding to single instances, though. The world is going to be okay.
  21. The entire point of this thread is language.
  22. No, because intersex isn't suddenly not acceptable and isn't deemed offensive. There's no need for adjustment. Especially considering I don't have patients or need to deal with the disorders intersexual individuals are dealing with. ISNA does and explains that as the reasoning for adding DSD. Also, as noted previously, intersex is not the "term du jour." The Intersex Soceity of North America was founded in 1993 (over 20 years ago). They themselves say they started using DSD in the last year. Now I would think there's a difference in the wider usage of one term vs the other given the significant time difference. You would certainly be able to find examples of terms that even the most politically correct are using improperly or have been replaced but this isn't one of them. If they were making a larger argument that intersex is offensive or unusable then why would they still have it in the title of their organization? That seems pretty simple. I'm not frustrated in any way their adding of a term. If they were making an argument that DSD must replace an offensive term in intersex then I would try to find out if it's just one group's thought or the thoughts of the community as a whole. If the community agreed and insisted then I would have no problem adjusting.
  23. Attempted to remedy this in private, but N'eo has been misrepresenting what the ISNA (who I had never heard of until he mentioned them) is doing with terminology. They are NOT attempting to replace intersex with DSD. They are two separate terms. The group is attempting to be more specific as "intersexuality" is more a blanket term but DSD explains the cause better. In their own words: Intersex itself is not a disorder, rather a variation. But Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, for instance, is an inherited disorder affecting adrenal function. Many women with Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome have become comfortable with the term AIS, which is based on “syndrome.” But “syndrome” is a pattern of symptoms indicative of some disease or disorder. “Disorder” refers to the underlying cause, not intersexuality itself, and certainly not to the whole person. Now N'eo used this to present an argument and take a relatively weak (especially for a man with such a way with words and much knowledge) jab at me. Weak sauce. Here's a link to the page where they explain why they use DSD, what intersex is and so on if you'd like to learn more: http://www.isna.org/node/1066
  24. Correct. There is no specific "there" with societies influenced by Sharia.
