Asplund with three assists today and Kris Baker gave the impression he absolutely dominated the ice. I'm really excited about this kid, so far.

Terrible. Weekes is solid in studio and I love Bucci as an anchor, but they're simply not live material. Bucci does college hockey and is terrible. ESPN should be embarrassed.

Definitely temporary. #92 should be available in Rochester (and Buffalo once he makes the team). But it's better than some of these other handouts like Foligno's 82.

This is the first I'm hearing of it. I'm legitimately asking because I know nothing about it aside from this. A tweet inspired me to google it.

I think it takes more effort to put that tower up than it does to not. Which I often find to be the case for many offensive actions: more effort to do it than to not.

Your last line is true. But Poloncarz' tweet is from yesterday... And I know of at least one local media organization that was there ... The Charter Revision stuff is a very complicated process that only happens once every ten years, so it's something a ton of stories will still fail to explain and then go away again for a decade. Some public hearings earlier on the matter had decent attendance. At this point it's just a bunch of bickering between Poloncarz, Comptroller Mychajliw and others about whether they're using the Charter Revision to attack Poloncarz or not. Today's latest bickering is in regards to Poloncarz and his push to pay active-duty members of the military that are also county officials. Mychajliw says: http://www2.erie.gov/comptroller/index.php?q=poloncarz-plays-politics-military-members Poloncarz has 30 days to sign the Charter (which means he has to sign it by September 29th), but he's already refused most of the revisions and isn't really a fan of any of them. I don't believe he supports the extension of leg terms to four years. Here is the executive order which is Poloncarz' 15th: http://www2.erie.gov/exec/index.php?q=executive-order-15

I don't know if it has been clarified but the Johnny-McDavid-Eichel line is the top line, not the second line. Not sure if that sways discussion at all, but it's worth noting.

I'm not convince it was a "gotcha" question. The only difference could've been "if elected what would you do about Syria" instead of "if elected, what would you do about Aleppo?" But Aleppo, to a politician, should be as readily identifiable as Syria. And it's too tough to call it a "gotcha" question with only a one-word swap between words that are synonyms in today's politics.

It's simple but still mostly interested in the development of Reichel. Very intrigued by the prospect of adding Okposo and Ennis to the lineup.
-
I think chances are good that Russ Brandon knows EXACTLY what Sabres fans want and so did Ted Black, but they both knew very well there was an influx of talent coming to the roster. Why change jerseys when you can sell a ton of Eichel, Reinhart, O'Reilly and Okposo jerseys for a few years? THEN, when the roster seems to have mostly settled at the top, BOOM you drop a royal and gold bomb on 'em.

Same report says Justin Fontaine, formerly of the Wild, could be heading to the KHL.

Teams make a TON on new uniforms. Good observations on Adidas. I do worry they're going to throw their three stripes on every jersey like RBK did with the piping Edge template. If they do, though, it's more tolerable than the Edge piping. I do think they'll have a few teams, including Vegas (I'm almost 100% sure they'll have it), wear the three stripes. I think white is surprisingly more transparent on some RBK sweaters anyways, so I don't know if it would be any worse.
-
It's important to look at the WCOH uniforms since that's the future supplier of the league. It looks like they've got a new cut going, so it'll change the look of all teams if they will indeed produce all jerseys under that template.
-
I dig those socks This is just such a good look. I would make the logo bigger, and the modern cut of jerseys (especially with Adidas coming in with a seemingly all-new cut) will make it a more modern and slightly different look but it's beautiful. Maybe that's our chance to see change - with Adidas coming in.
-
So, what do you think? I said in another thread that I'm now in the camp that thinks our uniforms are bad. They're really bland which USUALLY looks great in hockey except we've got navy mixed with a ton of bad silver piping/patches. I wouldn't be opposed to a whole new look that's clean and royal with the old logo, but I'll always support a near copy of our originals.
-
Naw, the latest word on thirds was Ted Black mentioning they probably wouldn't have new thirds until 2020. I gotta be honest - I'm firmly in the "our jerseys suck" camp. The dark blue is dumb and the trimming ruins every ounce of the look for me. They're terribly basic with a mess of silver trimming. I know we've done some threads talking about possible royal blue returns, but I'm going to get one going to gauge whether people think they could use an upgrade (so we don't derail this one).

A four-game suspension is indicative of one prior positive and nothing more.
