  1. Roger Goodell has said in the past he wants to raise the threshold for a positive test and lessen the suspensions. The players obviously want that. What exactly is stopping them from hitting the negotiating table now and adjusting the rules? Both sides have publicly said they want it so it'd be hard to play hardball on this one.
  2. If I remember correctly it is pooled and distributed to the league and players. Kaepernick's increased sales increase that pool, but I don't think it gives him more proceeds than others.

  7. High school freshman will hear about 9/11 as a purely historical event for the first time. They were now born yet.
  8. Does it "almost always" happen because the media are the ones telling you about the polls? ;) It's kind of like the myth that Bernie voters won't vote for Hillary. There's no news story if you walk around and find ten Hillary voters in a crowd of sad Bernie voters. A reporter will be tasked to find a couple of emotional Bernie supporters who are upset by him officially getting the boot from the nomination.
  9. On tightening polls: ratings are better for the media when polls are tight. A wide lead becoming mysteriously close quickly is helpful for them.
  10. Sam Bradford had the best completion percentage under pressure last season. Teddy Bridgewater was the most pressured QB in the league. It makes a world of sense outside of the price paid to acquire the asset.
  11. I know it's well known JK was an ass but was he also known to be legitimately stupid? Because Chad Kelly is legitimately and objectively stupid.
  12. http://deadsp.in/DPFiW7U Megan Rapinoe of the USWNT joins Colin Kaepernick by kneeling for the anthem.
  13. If only the court system abided by this.
  14. He's a fullback. I don't recall any such "big deal." He's probably still one of the better fullbacks in the league but it's irrelevant because they didn't even use him after giving him a big contract last offseason. It wouldn't be unfair to criticize Whaley for the signing.
  15. Felton release isn't even slightly surprising. Lawson is. His domestic cases are pretty much nothing. No physical violence.
  16. Except Kaepernick is guaranteed $11.9 million regardless of whether the 49ers cut him sooooooo... Here's the article about his donation plans: http://on.si.com/2bH30em

  20. I'm kind of surprised by the reaction of many fans. So many pointing out that it's a "prove-it deal." Well ... Yea. He has proved absolutely zilch as a pro and hasn't warranted anything but a deal of this nature. This was to be expected.

  25. Kaepernick has been wearing socks all preseason that have pigs wearing cop hats since 49ers camp began but nobody noticed or reported it until today. He put out a statement saying he decided to wear them before he decided to sit for the anthem.
