  1. Geez. I had no idea. I looked at the comments to see if there was anybody supporting the claims or refuting them. Several say that there’s an extensive record of his abuse in Winnipeg, but then a few Hull supporters started going on some pro-Hitler rants and boy does it not make him look any better.
  2. Kane was gone at the deadline so I didn’t count him. Wasn’t a member of the team to finish the year.
  3. Ray Emery was an enjoyable player for me, not because he was good but because he was entertaining. And in a league that doesn’t have enough diversity it helped make him someone to root for. He was entertaining because he was emotional and loved to fight. Unfortunately those attributes appeared to haunt the man off the ice as he had a history of domestic violence and had a highly publicized attack on one of his coaches. A shame he’s gone so soon. That’s the man we know, but I hope he grew from all that and I’m sure he left a positive mark on lives around him.
  4. I decided to rewrite the first bit about the Sabres since you made the comparison: Of Buffalo's eight leading scorers from last season, one of them — Ryan O'Reilly — won’t be back for 2018-19. The Sabres didn’t even attempt to replace the lost scoring. Instead, they signed a goalie in Carter Hutton, acquired Patrik Berglund, Vladimir Sobotka and Tage Thompson. Yes, Cotton, it’s a bold strategy. But Jason Botterill is still hoping it pays off. I don't know, man. I don't think they've deployed even slightly similar strategies. I don't think Brock and Horvat compare to Eichel and Reinhart. Eichel is significantly better than Brock, and Reinhart is on par with Horvat (maybe slightly worse). Mittelstadt and Pettersson are on similar levels, though. I only did this because I will do whatever it takes to distances the Sabres strategy from what Benning is doing... for my own sanity.
  5. I think they'll be competitive, but I don't think they're a lock for the playoffs. I wouldn't have a hard time leaving them out in current projections.
  6. Yup. He's 27. He can play basically the same game with St. Louis and it'll be good enough for them to improve, but he's not going to suddenly become something he's never been close to in his previous nine seasons.
  7. $3.083M AAV
  8. I mean, I don't believe any other team would give anything else to these guys nor would the players expect anything different.
  9. Since LIGER isn't a fan of sharing links/sources:
  10. Derek Grant would've been ninth on this team in points last year. Went for 12-12-24 with the Ducks. No, I don't want him here, I just think it's funny a guy that never scored a goal in his first nearly 100 games ended up with 12.
  11. SABRES INK BAILEY BUFFALO, N.Y. (July 15, 2018) --- The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has signed forward Justin Bailey to a one-year, two-way contract with an AAV of $715,000. Bailey (6’4”, 214 lbs., 7/1/1995) recorded a career-high three goals and added one assist in 12 NHL games during his third professional season in 2017-18. He also appeared in 37 AHL games for the Rochester Americans, where he finished with 15 points (10+5) and a plus-3 rating before adding two goals in three AHL playoff contests. A native of Buffalo, New York, Bailey was drafted by the Sabres in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft. During his three-year professional career, Bailey has recorded eight points (5+3) in 52 NHL games and 96 points (53+43) in 159 AHL games.
  12. Teams like the Penguins, Lightning and a few others constantly have unheralded prospects coming up that turn into useful NHL players. CJ Smith has the feel of a guy that could be exactly that for us.
  13. I mean he still has to clear waivers on a multi-year deal...
  14. Can’t expect much more from either side. Team keeps control of him and there’s no reason for him to sign a two year deal for $700K. He can get this deal again next offseason even if he’s hurt probably. But if he breaks out that number goes up.
  15. Eichel is better than O'Reilly. I don't think it's close.
  16. Lou won't let players wear 13. Zero players wore 13 with the Devils until he left. He was asked about it and thought it was crazy anybody would let a player wear 13. I imagine he'll have to suck it up since Barzal wears 13 with the Isles. He also generally wouldn't let players wear numbers over 44.
  17. I never had an issue with ROR’s comment. I hope they all lost something throughout years of losing. I hope all of them (including ROR in STL) find the desire to recapture what they’ve lost. I liked ROR and still don’t have an issue with them trading him (I’m glad they did because something serious had to change).
  18. I don’t think wondering if he’s a little bit of a headcase and using this as a small piece of evidence is unreasonable, but I do think PA is a little over the top.
  19. I have no idea when we hear about it but does it matter when we heard about it? Everything we’ve learned that matters came after the Instagram post, not from the Instagram post. (note: I’m not talking in a legal sense, lord knows what the court says happened and what actually happened aren’t always the same)
  20. That Instagram post has nothing to do with the victim or the lawyer. They asked for it to be deleted and said they will not speak to what’s in the post. They denied making any domestic abuse allegations. You can make the choice to hold what someone did while she was lying bloodied in a hospital against her, but it’s BS in my book.
  21. Your first line is almost guaranteed false. If McCoy turns out to not be involved that does not mean she is not a victim. The only two scenarios where she isn't a victim here is if she hired somebody to beat her (almost zero chance this happened) or if she... kidnapped somebody, brought them to her home and that person beat her in self defense? I can't think of any other ways she wouldn't be a victim. Those wounds are from an attack. Police have already stated there was a targeted invasion and attack. She is a victim, regardless of the offender. The victim has only stated that she was attacked and it wasn't random. She, shortly after being brutally beaten, claimed LeSean McCoy may have been involved in a 911 call. She seemed to believe this because the jewelry that was taken traced back to him. Since that 911 call there have been no direct accusations against McCoy or anyone specific from the victim or lawyer publicly. EVERYTHING else we know about this case has come from the police report, prior police reports and prior court documents obtained by various media outlets. Those reports indicate a history of McCoy demanding she leave the property, demanding she return specific pieces of jewelry and sending people to her home to remove jewelry and furniture. So it appears she wouldn't be insane to think a man with a history of sending people to her home to obtain items could do so again.
  22. 1. Nobody said it doesn't. It holds zero value as "indications she's fabricating," though. At least in an actual discussion on the topic. I don't recall an NFL player or any high profile person immediately confessing to taking part in beating someone brutally. 2. Fair enough. What qualifies a "squatter?" I've seen no indications she is a squatter, for the record. 3. I think everyone here is being cautious. I lean towards defending those who've been attacked because people constantly tear them down when it comes to sports and it's asinine. That hasn't happened much here (in this case), so my animosity towards those who seem focused on the possibility that she's a liar above all else is mostly from interactions with others on this subject.
  23. Also, it's worth noting McCoy has not denied a single thing that the victim or her attorney are claiming. He has only responded to the situation a total of one time, and the statement released was in response to the instagram post. The victim and her attorney have distanced themselves from the instagram post.
  24. So... none of the things you just said are "indications" that she's "fabricating." Of f***ing course McCoy is going to deny it. That's hold zero value. And the "denial" has been dissected and questioned enough itself. The "walk-back" has been clarified as not a walk-back. She's not squatting. If she was squatting the cops would've allowed McCoy to kick her out from the beginning. (Correct me if I'm wrong here, smarter people). You're nothing if not consistent about how you view women victims.
