  1. 11 is actually more his number than 9. He asked for 11 and the Sabres obviously laughed at him (that's actually what they said in the video reveal of 15). But yes, if 9 were available he would've definitely taken that.
  2. Yea, it’s an actual thing Conacher said he did.
  3. They don’t have to give letter but they’re required to designate someone as the “captain” basically so they will speak to the ref. Eichel has shown signs of being a leader. I’m not saying he’s shown signs of being THE leader, but it’s definitely been more than any other player on the team. I saw N S suggest it’d be “five years.” It’s not going to be that long. It’ll be either immediate or one/two years at most.
  4. I think it’s likely Skinner’s status as a pending UFA is scaring off a lot of teams.
  5. 2020-21 is also a lockout season, so that’s something we have to look forward to. Finally get royal blue then bam lockout. It’s also Vancouver’s 50th, so I could see an outdoor game between the two. Or just both of us getting our own. Buffalo vs Toronto and Vancouver vs Seattle.
  6. Jack - C Reinhart - A Risto - A Okposo, Bogo and Scandella are other A options. If Jack doesn’t get the C something is wrong.
  7. Remember when Cory Conacher asked Patrick Kane if he could wear 88 in Buffalo? That was awkward.
  8. Looking around the league at this most recent season so many guys made huge leaps forward. So the question is simple: do you think anybody does it for Buffalo? It could be Eichel or it could be someone like Rodrigues, but it has to be a BIG leap. Some examples from last season: Taylor Hall from 20-33-53 to 39-54-93 and a Hart trophy Nathan MacKinnon from 16-37-53 to 39-58-97 Mikko Rantanen from a 38-point rookie year to an 84-point season Claude Giroux from 14-44-58 to 34-68-102 Blake Wheeler from 78-point career high to 91 points Mat Barzal comes from out of nowhere for 22-63-85 (for the record I raved about him in his draft year - should've been third overall) Wild Bill William Karlsson blew up for 43-35-78 and some NHL awards in Vegas
  9. He's got an NHL deal and the two leagues have an agreement, so the chances of him being able to walk away without the Sabres approval are slim.
  10. You have to spend the $49 towards an adult Eichel #9 jersey
  11. I own an Ennis 40th anniversary third, a Reinhart home 23 (with silver piping) and a blank WC from last year. I had many more but, turns out, homes made of wood are highly flammable.
  12. I know he was absolutely putrid for the first half of the season, but he ended up with 25-25-50 which is very good for a player who started the season at 21 years old. Played all 82 games which is huge. 21-19-40 of that came in the 44 games played January 1st and after. That's a pace of 39-35-74 over 82 games. Obviously the key is putting it together over a full season, but if he's even just "good" for half the year and that level (borderline great) for the other half he's looking at a 35-40-75 season at age 22/23. That'd end any conversation about whether he's a major piece. I want Samson around going forward. I think he's as important to this team as any player not named Eichel or Dahlin.
  13. I mentioned this earlier. I would just offer people the use of the jersey for like $10 a pop. (or free if they're my friend)
  14. For the record, you still keep the jersey when you get the $49 credit. They aren't taking the old ones but are just verifying that you own one. I don't think that's an accurate theory. It appears they were a one-off and likely will never be worn again. Fans LOVED them but they won't be worn this coming season, and I doubt they'd kill them off just to bring them back when they can sell two completely different jerseys later on.
  15. Little birdie is my favorite nickname for cocaine
  16. It'll be two more years.
  17. Yup. Thanks for looking it up and spoiling it. ? The first person to ever wear it for the team. So the first person to wear it has the most and the (current) last person to wear it has the second most.
  18. The person with the most goals and assists in #15 was decades ago, if that helps. Also, the next phase could be even bigger than the contract if they show the front side of these photos and the C is on it.
  19. Outside of Zubrus and Stuart he’s the only one that I knew of. But no he doesn’t hold the top numbers.
  20. Cool, thanks for joining the discussion. The Sabres store will be offering $49 towards an exchange of #15 Eichel jerseys for #9 jerseys.
  21. Trivia (without looking): Eichel has the second most goals and assists in Sabres history for a player wearing 15. The same player is ahead of him in both. What player is it? A little easier: who has the most goals and assists while wearing #9?
  22. I added a poll to the topic. 15 vs 9.
  23. He has now posted this
  24. He was doing Bauer stuff recently but that’s clearly the HarborCenter, so I’m curious if this is more Bauer stuff or something the team is doing to reveal the number via twitter.
  25. I saw some people saying he’s just trolling and covered up 15 but you can very clearly see #9 on the helmet. Cool.
