  1. I promise this was a thing. I’m too drunk to do any sort of search on it but it was 1000% a thing.
  2. That was the funniest ending to any sporting event I’ve ever watched
  3. Anybody remember when the NHL first introduced their own advanced logs and stats a few years ago then it was exposed that the company they hired were just making up their own numbers?
  4. If I was a coach and heard this he’d be sent to the locker room.
  5. On Tuesday we play our sixth game. New Jersey will play their third game that night.
  6. We’ve won three games and there have been more than a handful of posts complaining about their performance in the two they won most handily on the scoreboard. Good teams win bad games. Bad teams win bad games. Just win.
  7. Every player wants to get to free agency in their prime. They mention both Chicago guys did it.
  8. Headlines tonight with some interesting tidbits... https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/headlines-kotkanemi-sticking-canadiens/ 1. Matthews and Toronto are apparently getting heavy on contract talks. Five year deal is the term specifically mentioned which would be glorious for Matthews. 2. Nylander and Toronto still nowhere close. Interesting note from CJ is that if an offer sheet eclipses five years the AAV is no longer what applies to the conpensation chart. They just divide the total by five which makes the compensation steeper if you give, say, a seven-year offer. 3. Bobrovsky apparently wants as much or more than Carey Price ($10.5M per). That’s insane. The Islanders might be a fit, per their reporting.
  9. There it is Skinner
  10. I can’t tell if Tage is poorly executing good ideas or properly executing bad ideas. He seems close to making a highlight-reel play every few minutes he gets on the ice.
  11. Pretty sure Dunleavy just said there were only five seconds left in the PK when there were 40 seconds left.
  12. They both said he’ll be ready within a couple games. I believe he himself said he was probably healthy enough to play last night but wanted to get a few practices in before getting in the lineup.
  13. Lines today at practice were: Sheary-Eichel-Reinhart Skinner-Mittelstadt-Okposo Sobotka-Berglund-Thompson Elie-Rodrigues-Pominville Scandella-Risto McCabe-Dahlin Bealieau-Nelson Housley mentioned that it was a very good day for Bogosian and that he’s traveling with the team. My guess is he is in within the next two games. I do want to see Pilut and Bogosian slotting in and Bealieau/Nelson out. I’d also like to see CJ Smith and Nylander up but not sure who is getting meaningful minutes they could replace.
  14. I’m not going to let people keep discounting CJ Smith. I think there’s something there with this kid.
  15. Better than Eichel.
  16. I’ve officially moved to thinking his call is bad now. It’s a little sad but that happens with age but maybe it’s time to move on.
  17. I think the scoreboard shows exactly where we’re at this game.
  18. That’s interference. I don’t think it should be but it is. Okposo didn’t actually make any “extra” motions to interfere or move the puck after the initial contact on his stick but that’s now how the rule works.
  19. Some nice play there from Eichel, Sheary and Reinhart. Still waiting for Skinner to really show up. That chance was partially on him. Way out of position and ran into his own guy on the rush.
  20. Idk if he was “right to be mad.” Players sign a ton of players every offseason. If they signed him and came out and said that Pilut was the only defensive move they’d be making that’d be justification for anger, but they didn’t. Rochester needs players and plenty of Euro free agents have turned into legitimate players. Being angry for wanting an NHL player at that time would be like screaming how you need toilet paper in the cereal aisle. Relax, we’ll get there. And if we don’t be mad then.
  21. Reminds me of
  22. Good call. I was going too much off the list before me and only remembered to add Smith. Thems the receipts.
  23. ?
  24. 1. Nylander 2. Pilut 3. Asplund 4. Olofsson 5. Guhle 6. Smith 7. UPL 8. Davidsson 9. Laaksonen
  25. The gap between Tre White and the current second-best player on the team is bigger than the gap between Jason Peters and the second-best Bills player during the post-Kelly era.
