Leonard is still, by most accounts, interested in being a Laker. Butler seems mostly interested in going somewhere with the most money so he can find a player he can bring with him. The Lakers don’t offer that and Butler clearly thinks he’s a generational leader (he’s not).

Pippen’s trade demand came from a poor relationship with the team’s GM and rumors they talked about trading him in the offseason. Irving’s trade demand came in almost the exact same context. The reports about his desire to leave LeBron were certainly there, but Pippen demanding a trade in the first place plus his comments about LeBron > Jordan makes it clear he doesn’t feel super about MJ. On the record, Kyrie said the pressure of needing to win every game and every title was tough to handle. So this one looks like a tossup and not really a knock on LeBron vs Jordan.

Scottie Pippen demanded a trade — very publicly. He was even interviewed during the All Star game and listed places and players he wanted to join. Pippen also says himself LeBron is better than MJ.

Games change every now and then so it’s essnetially pointless to use that as a discussion point. Can’t compare anyone with that attitude. There are things MJ could do defensively that made him “great” that he can’t do now. LeBron would still be able to bully people to the rim back in the day. Sure, there were a bunch of big dumb idiots at the rim back then but LeBron is still stronger than 90% of them. They both played games that would’ve let them be superstars in any era and their development also would’ve changed in different eras. The legitimate only knock on LeBron’s entire game is free throw shooting which is just something some big guys simply can’t do no matter how hard they try. Now where do they slot into this Sabres lineup?

There are plenty of people over 40 who think LeBron is better. And they’re the ones who are able to let go and see he’s doing things Jordan simply couldn’t. He’s the better athlete, the stronger player, the better rebounder, the better passer and can score in more ways. Jordan will always have the rings because Jordan landed in a great situation and never had to play a team in the same stratosphere as the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors of the last few years are the greatest team ever assembled. That’s not a generational thing, it’s something I’ve seen echoed across all ages.

The Jaguars tried it. Last a year. We’ll see if they come back when Fournette does.

Agreed. Maybe not “light years” but Cooper is much better. Gordon hasn’t done anything in productive in half a decade.

They know the truth... LeBron > Jordan.

This does not indicate they have a decision. It’s just a list of players who are on ELC that could slide - they have him as definitively staying.

I feel happy about the loss. Love to root for draft positioning. Honestly I’ll be mad when we win the super bowl with the number one pick in 2022 leading the team.

Bro, I tried being nice to you after the initial exchange but you’ve got a very loose grip on reality. You keep insisting someone told you to “**** off.” That did not happen. You also didn’t “simply mention how good of a player Trochek is.” I was with you on how the stuff being said in response to you was an overreaction but it seems I gave you the benefit of the doubt without knowing enough about your history.

Anderson is an immediate upgrade to Allen but not by much and the overall team morale loss will likely more than cancel it out.

I find it to be a very big stretch. This isn’t like an Eichel vs Matthews or even Pastrnak conversations. It’s Vincent Trochek. He’s damn good. He’s not Eichel. I would rather have Florida’s team than Eichel’s but if you put Eichel in Trochek’s position Florida would be a contender.
-
He spent 36.5% of his even strength time with one or both of Huberdeau last season. 45.3% of his ES points were with them. Just 3.1% of Trochek’s ES time was spent with Barkov total, 13.5% of his points were from that time. 86.2% of his PP time was spent with Barkov. This “Trochek > Eichel” thing is a mix of bias (both for Trochek/Florida and against Eichel/Buffalo and attempts to seem super smart without acknowledging the very different situations the two are in. It’s an overcompensation of our reality with the Sabres and their captain.

Yes

Uh... ? You asked what the source is and I said it then expanded on the point.
-
Frozen Tools. And most have been with Huberdeau but he spent time with Barkov and both in some situations last season.

I honestly feel very good about Botterill and his capabilities. Seems like a guy who works hard and has a pulse on where the team needs to go. We’ll see if he can get them there. I want to be as patient as reasonably possible with him. I give him at least NEXT season and as long as they’re not a bottom feeder I give him another. If the team finished bottom five each of the next two seasons then things change.
-
I’d be interested to see how Eichel would do with Huberdeau or Barkov. Trochek scored 65% of his points last season on a line with one of both of them. Florida’s stable of forwards is impressive. Easy to root for.

I used to root for teams outside of Western New York and my viewing area but it’s hard when you can’t watch them a lot. I have no problem with having a local team and a favorite team. I do think you “use” your Florida fancard in kinda weird ways but it is what it is. I think it’s wild to say you’d trade Eichel for Trochek. Eichel is the better player now and will be in the future. The gap will get wider.
