  1. No but based on what I’m seeing from the team so far I know which option they chose.
  2. For the record, that headline is almost guaranteed to have come from a digital producer who meant to say “preferred” but just had a brain fart. Said digital producer probably knows nothing about the story (they were regurgitating Emily Kaplan’s ESPN report which used the term “preferred” and not “proper”).
  3. It’s also an accident that both sides immediately started drawing lines and have been very publicly spiteful toward each other. Nothing that ever happened prior to the accident could have fostered a better response and handling by the two parties.
  4. This is not a neutral event with no ramifications.
  5. I don’t think there’s a party without fault here.
  6. We won’t know this for several years. I, too, thought Rossi or Lundell should have been the pick but time will tell.
  7. Starting QBs (and other players) have lost their jobs to injury pretty consistently in the past. That’s just old coach speak that very rarely, if ever, holds true.
  8. No problem! I mean there’s definitely no way anyone could feel years of poorly managing a relationship with your franchise player could lead to a nightmare situation such as this. Nothing the Sabres have done over the years or since this process started can be construed negatively. Jack Eichel is the one true villain.
  9. Fun fact: the Bengals are the current one seed
  10. I’ll gladly sit with the most successful hockey insiders! I just wish they’d pay me (in money or attention).
  11. If I sit on the downside of the teeter totter it’s not going up.
  12. Where’s Harrington’s proof? Where’s Callaghan’s proof? Every single post on this subject is made up conversation. There’s plenty of reason for the team to leak information that appears slightly favorable for Jack but ultimately does nothing to actually help him. If everybody thinks your opposition is the one leaking info thus convincing the masses you’re handling it professionally …
  13. The presumption from the board seems to be every single piece of leaked information has come from Jack’s representation. The board is almost guaranteed to be wrong in that presumption.
  14. Harrington not being able to recognize that organizations and individuals release information beyond just what is said in press conferences comes as no surprise.
  15. He was obviously just a stopgap starter for Houston but it won’t be Mills. The Texans are going to draft their next starter.
  16. This has been a point I’ve made a handful of times. I get the feeling there are more penalties involved for doing something like this without team approval. If that weren’t the case I think Jack would have gotten the surgery already.
  17. Barzal is such a strange case. I had him third in that draft. He was long viewed as a top ten pick in that draft but somehow just kept dropping. The Bruins passed on him three times.
  18. Is it possible the music that comes with the surgery is why Jack is so adamant?
  19. Prior to being hurt Tyrod was 31-for-44 for 416 yards, 3 passing TDs, 1 rushing TD and 0 turnovers. He was also 1-0 and was tied 14-14 against the Browns when he got hurt.
  20. I’d look again. He’s been terrible in all but two starts. One good start against New England and one mediocre start against Carolina.
  21. They’re villains for the business they’re in. Whether they’re villains in the Eichel situation is debatable. I think there’s more to it than this. In a sense none of us can understand.
  22. There is a good number of teams at the top. The Bills got a lot of love at number one in Power rankings before the Titans game, but there are actually 5-7 teams you could argue are better (Bucs, Cardinals, Packers, Titans, Rams, Ravens have a good argument then teams like the Cowboys, Bengals and Chargers could all enter the conversation). They’re probably somewhere between the fourth and sixth best team. I feel very good about this Bills team but it’s never easy to get to the top. Lucky for them only one of those NFC teams will ever matter and then they only have to be two or three of the AFC teams. No. Mills has been terrible.
