  1. I think it definitely takes more than one season to get this shaken off unless it’s a season with a deep run. I think it definitely takes more than one season to get this shaken off unless it’s a season with a deep run.
  2. It might not sound scientific but this really is the answer. We’ve tried mixing and matching lineup-filling players for years but when you simply don’t have enough good player you’re going to be forced to put lesser players in bigger roles, especially when injuries arise. Find better players. If that means you’ve got to move someone out that was originally in your plans because you found an alternative you’re more confident in then do it.
  3. If Gallant is willing to come here I'd be disappointed in any other outcome, honestly. Have struggles in the last two games against the rival Bruins done anything to change the minds of those that had hopped on the Don train?
  4. Yes, everyone. He is talking about the losing streak. Obviously.
  5. It definitely is. But it's part of something that's certainly captured attention around the league. I think it's going to be a LONG LONG time before this franchise gets this stench wiped off.
  6. It's pretty jarring to hear the way players around the league have talked about the team but this is the first I've seen from someone with absolutely no connection to the team.
  7. I don’t think we would do it (nor should we)
  8. Me either I was just throwing out a random deal. Agreed on the center vs winger point.
  9. Kaprizov, Dumba and a 1st.
  10. Jack Eichel.
  11. This is mostly where I’m at though I don’t want to make proclamations about someone’s mental well-being without knowing them. This is a good move even if we were in a better position at net. He’s likely still another full year away from playing but it’s good to get him in front of some NHL shots and playing at an NHL pace.
  12. Assuming Skinner is willing to waive his NMC. If he doesn't you drop an anvil on him ... I mean you protect him and drop Bjork from the list but that puts more pressure to send an asset to Seattle to make sure they don't take Bjork. Eichel, Reinhart, Olofsson, Mittelstadt, Asplund, Tage Thompson, Anders Bjork Dahlin, Jokiharju, Risto (ideally you trade him ahead of the draft and protect Borgen or give Vegas a 3/4 to take Miller instead) Ullmark (technically not currently eligible so you'd have to sign him) It feels pretty straightforward to me.
  13. “That’s fine for a bottom pair guy making $1M or whatever he is making now. In Buffalo he was making $5M+ and was supposed to be a key top-4 guy. Instead we got a just ok guy who was almost never healthy and way overpaid. Fans were not impressed. Its like Okposo now. He can still play and fill a role. At $6M it’s a disaster, at $1M it would be fine.” It’s not Bogosian’s fault his body failed him throughout his time here or he was forced into a role that wasn’t fit for where he was at physically. I appreciated his time here and wish he could’ve stuck around into this part of his career. He was vilified by fans and players remember that stuff.
  14. Maybe we should stop blaming players for the expectations management put on them when management misjudged and misuses them.
  15. The responses to this post about Bogosian being hurt from Maple Leafs players is a good reminder of how bad Sabre fan perceptions have been twisted. I spent a fair amount of energy defending Bogo when the entire fanbase ripped him apart here. He was never a bad player. He was a little reckless at times but I always got the impression the dude had ***** luck with health and when he was out there he was trying to make things happen.
  16. Because he’s got a really cool name. And because of the very nice things many smart people have to say about him. I’ll give you what you want when I am able to dive deeper into this thang.
  17. Michael Beimel is also a relative (brother I think?) of former MLBer Joe Beimel, the only MLB player to ever wear 97.
  18. I haven’t done nearly as much work on this draft as I normally do but my initial thoughts are here, as well. He’s my number one.
  19. No I literally do know it’s not an intern.
  20. Meh. It’s hard to define responsibility and the importance of different roles. Too much to consider. It’s a public-facing role that directly speaks to the customer on the biggest platforms these organizations have. It’s not an intern. Full stop.
  21. NHL scouts, I’d guess
  22. That’s a pretty good hit rate.
  23. He’s the only name I’ve seen consistently ranked one. There are some of those random mock draft websites that don’t have him one.
  24. I think this is just you talking yourself out of it. He’s been projected one everywhere for years. The point above about Dahlin being a LHD who will log big minutes is valid but Power seems to have separated from the pack for a while.
  25. It’s a paid professional. They just suck at it. The Sabres social team has been hot trash for years now.
