  1. This all checks out but it’s also entirely different from the original statement (caring is an entirely different beast, you can walk away easily while still caring). This is a strange conversation that I created in this thread though, my apologies.
  2. just filter trade proposals through your assistant (if the Pegulas were willing to pay one).
  3. I legitimately could not disagree more with the sentiment.
  4. This is one of the cringiest things I’ve ever read.
  5. Add Guenther and Olausson. All the Dylan’s, Rasmi and Ola/o/whatever’s.
  6. Give me Stankoven NOW even if this is the first time I’ve ever heard of him. That name sold me.
  7. I think that’d sort of be the idea in an advisory role but I’d also like him to give Adams some direction. He’s had success in two very different situations.
  8. I knew his fancy stats were quite good but didn’t realize they were THAT erect, my goodness.
  9. I do not believe in “weak” drafts. I believe you just have drafts where there is no sparkly top prospects but these drafts always produce legitimate players once you get beyond that. Obviously if you have the first overall pick and someone calls you valuing it like a number one pick in a draft with a superstar then you could take advantage but overall I’m not a big believer in the weak draft stuff.
  10. Attention spans, man.
  11. The most interesting aspect of this has been the overall feeling that this would be fine with many. Secondary to that is ink’s adoration for festive celebrations. I would hate it, personally. No known commodity in there and feels like the absolute lowest you should be getting for a superstar.
  12. Can we unpin this thread so it actually happens?
  13. You are FAR overvaluing Hall. The Debrusk and a 1st deal that was suggested was by a writer, not a rumor. And that was absolutely insane (you probably don’t get either of those pieces straight up for Hall).
  14. Ghost was likely waived to make it easier to trade him because they recognized it was very unlikely someone was trading for that contract.
  15. My jaw dropped. False. We will be taking Bedard with one of the three firsts we get for Taylor Hall.
  16. That's not the conversation I was having. The conversation I was having was purely about Toronto and whether or not they tanked. They did.
  17. Toronto tanked. Theirs was just less involved. There was media coverage of their obvious plan to lose before that season even started.
  18. Fun fact: if the Sabres win every single game for the rest of the season they are still on pace to miss the playoffs by 11 points.
  19. It might be “easy” here to in that we’ll be picking 1/2 and there’s no consensus so there’s a pretty good chance we’ll have a chance to take Beniers on draft day.
  20. Tim isn’t a poster on this board.
  21. I’m counting it. We got result we wanted that year. Call my mom and yell at her if you disagree with the way I think because it’s her fault.
  22. I’ve always thought the “they wouldn’t be waiving/releasing/trading him” stuff in any sport is an argument that falls flat. Of course there’s a REASON teams do things. And we see time and time again that teams are wrong. Or that teams are right but their reason for not wanting someone doesn’t ultimately preclude their new team for finding a successful role for them. There was a reason the Coyotes traded Daniel Briere. There was a reason the Colts traded Jerry Hughes.
  23. But I will say I think Eichel still counts. We were all smashing our mouses to get to a website called “McEichel.” And technically there’s more Eichel in that title than McDavid. In fact, are we sure if wasn’t just Eichel sponsored by McDonalds the whole time?
