To be fair, the Canes waived Nedelkjovic earlier this year.

What do we get for Hall? When does he get traded?
Hoss replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Iām always pro-ābuyingā if thereās someone out there under contract that fits the direction you want to go in. I will admit itās harder to define what that is if you donāt have a permanent HC, though. Also, I am 100% over any sentimental value added to moves. I couldnāt care less about adding a Foligno for the sake of harkening back to a time where this franchise still couldnāt win anything. Nick Foligno is BIG meh to me. -

This is silly. Heās worth more than Staal regardless of his performance this season. Also, he hasnāt been bad dating back to his trade to Arizona. Heās been bad here but he was fine in Arizona. 10-17-27 in 35 games. Thatās a 23-40-63 pace. -
Official Jason Karmanos Hired as Sabres Associate GM

Was poorly worded. Our attention spans are the reason news has evolved the way it is but a lot of societal factors have gone into decreasing attention spans across the board. -

Eklund is like all those weird Facebook websites your racist uncle shares that everyone with half a brain realizes is completely fabricated yet somehow still sneaks into the conversation here and there. -

Friedman indicated the Blues-Sabres talks were not about Hall but if they were Iād be interested in a Vince Dunn and a conditional first deal. -

Thatās mostly the fault of the consumer. In sports a lot of people (myself included) love all the inside stuff. I love hearing about negotiations as they take place. Those negotiations fall apart a lot and sometimes reporters get used by agents/teams to push certain agendas in negotiations. Sometimes itās impossible but others we need to be better at deciphering whatās happening. -

To be clear that was one year ago - during the 2019-2020 season. -

The team could do a million things but without this first step it'd all be an uneducated guess by inexperienced executives. -
That proposal is asinine. Youād get that for prime Hall with two years of control, not this Hall with looming UFA. Also, with the speculation that Hall actually kind of likes it here ... anyone think itās possible he comes back this offseason after a deadline trade?
-
I mean maybe but youāre acting like itās an absolute lock that one prospect will be better than the next when it simply doesnāt work like that.
-
I canāt fathom looking at this team and viewing more than one or two guys as guys you wonāt trade. There isnāt a player on this roster or in this system that Iām a 100% no on. The player Iād be least likely to trade is Cozens, though. Iām obviously not on board with trading Eichel yet but if you can get four/five building pieces for him (including multiple NOW impact pieces and something good for the future) then you have to consider it.
-
Philadelphia wouldnāt even counter this after theyād just hangout and text Terry to hire a real GM. Again, for clarity: Konecy was a healthy scratch in January. The problem has gone away and he remains a very good young forward on a very good contract.
-
It depends on where theyāre picking and pre-draft perceptions are never written in stone so Iām not going to be āup in armsā about anyone (within reason) but if you were to pick a guy like Kent over Beniers youāre pegging your entire reputation on it as a scout team.
-
Vancouver has found a good formula of targeting guys who have shown an ability to play the NHL game but get lost in the financial shuffle. Toffoli, Pearson and (the prize of them all) JT Miller. Those are the types of moves we need to win on.
-
Youāre not getting Konecny for an expiring contract. Heās a bonafide top six forward on a very good deal and is still young. Would you trade Reinhart for Hall? Because Konecny has more value than Samson.
-
I donāt know what it is but Kent Johnson is perplexing to me. Something about his game turns me off but then thereās something about him dat makes me think years from now weāre going to question how he wasnāt an absolute lock at one or two in dis draft. Probably whoever goes number two.
-
Konecny is a guy I would target, though. Him. Monahan. Elias Lindholm. If they donāt move either of them during the season than Ryan Ellis/Mattias Ekholm. I know the name remains unpopular but ... Patrick Kane is also a name you target if youāre keeping Eichel and want to flip dis team upside down. Four years for $5.5M is a very good deal for him. He also has 20 points in 26 games (on pace for 22-41-63 in 82 games). Heās not in any dog house as far as I can tell. dat was much earlier dis season.
-
It would take a chunky offer to get Konecny. The type of deal where Montour doesnāt really move the needle on. Risto & Mittelstadt type (if they believe Mittelstadt has potential).
-
So many dis and dats on dis board dat I donāt know if I can adjust to dis new culture.
-
The fact that they've been shut out more times than they've won makes me feel like they still might not even make the playoffs. Big yikes with this team. I feel like REALISTICALLY any pro team spotted a two-goal lead (or equivalent) would still win a lot of games but boy, it ... doesn't feel that way here.
