A while back, Dunleavy's made a cryptic comment about broadcasting his last game of the season? It made it sound like he was leaving. Or did I misinterpret his comment?

Brought up Catholic because it's was my parent's duty to do so (heard that many times). Never believed or bought in but had to go to Church "while I was still living in their house'. The day I moved out was the last day I went to Church. I'm an Atheist. But, all my siblings remain Catholic. If believing in a particular religion gives you peace, gives your life meaning and makes you a better, more tolerant person, that's great for all of us.

I think you're right on more options and categories.. My category for best pound-for-pound Sabre is Gare . 5'9" 175 pounds. He could do it all, score, fight, hit, leadership, and be a pain. Peca is in the conversation, but was never a 50 goal scorer like Gare.

If I needed a goal and one tough SOB, Gare. If I had to go to war with the Bruins or Flyers, Dudley.

Gil had the best lateral skating I've ever seen. If you were a defenseman, you had to guess which way he was going, because one crossover stride and he was by you.

I've been laid off too. However, my last 13 years before retirement were with the federal government. Say what you will about the government bureaucracy, but in times of trouble, they take care of their employees. I was based in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. They put us up at the Hilton (government rate, of course) for 3 months. What other employer would do that? I thank the federal government, and EVERY taxpayer for keeping my wife and I from potential financial ruin. Plus, I found my government job the most challenging and rewarding of my career. If you have kids, please encourage them to consider a government job. I know it's not a sexy job, but the work is rewarding, the "company" will never go bankrupt, and you'll have a good pension where you can sit on your ass and post on SabreSpace all day ?.

Eating cashews and drinking champagne. Weird, right. (I heard champagne was low carb and I don't want anyone to tell me differently). I can honestly say that there is only one serving size for cashews. "How much you got?"

He takes no crap, is beholden to no one, and knows what it takes to win in the league now. See the Habs, and the Leafs for that matter. Not that he is the GM, but success seems to follow him. He likes size and character as well. No more Stafford and Hecht. I think that would spell the end of Ennis (who I like), Gerbe (who I used to like) and Leopold (who I never liked). I think we'd see a Sabres team that was 50% different by September of 2013 with Dudley.

I met Smokey at the Desert Inn Golf Course in Las Vegas (that's when it still existed). He was so gracious. He signed my scorecard. I didn't want to take up his time or fawn over him, but It was like he was imposing on me more than I was imposing on him.. First class all the way. And he had the "it" factor. I must have looked like a deer in the headlights and I don't get that way for many people. He was one Just a great, great experience.

RIP Bill Withers. Underappreciated talent.

Watching replays of women's college volleyball. For some reason, my right hand is extremely tired.

Terry Kath. The insane part starts at 2:57. It's hard not to appreciate his talent. Notice his band mates. They look at him like the Sabres look at like Eichel. Do your thing Jack and we'll watch. And an under ratted vocalist.

I've seen all 5 on my list live. You're right, Kath was mesmerizing. He never looked at his guitar. It was like he was born with it in his hand. Effortless, passionate, a true genius. Side note, I saw The Eagles live and at the end of the show, Joe Walsh threw a handful of picks into the crowd and I was lucky enough to catch one. Still have it and revere it with a big JW on it. Don't sleep on Kerry Livegren. It's like the music came from his heart, through his brain to his fingers. Seeing a couple of his solos live, my jaw dropped and I don't think I blinked during the entire solo. Just fantastic.

Yep. Thought of him. Really tough to leave him out. Great non pick guitarist. Just like Lindsey Buckingham. I just didn't think he had the body of work of the others.

The 5 most under appreciated guitarists in classic rock. 1. Terry Kath - Chicago. Jimi Hendrix said he was the best guitarist he ever heard. 2. Randy Bachman - The Guess Who 3. Kerry Livegren - Kansas 4. Tommy Shaw - Styx 5. Joe Walsh - The Eagles - Although he may not be under appreciated - Not sure.

A couple things: 1. Rick Dudley was an animal!! Who else do you want in a bar fight? I still want him as GM. We need his jam. 2. I don't know if the Sabres won any of these games, but I didn't care. 3. Did you see how the players reacted to those fights. They were a team. They cared and played for each other. 4. The fans were into the game more than I have seen over the past decade. 5. I haven't seen team camaraderie like that in the last decade. 6. I miss this. I want this. THIS is being tough to play against. 7. And where do you find another Danny Gare who can kick your a$$ and score 50 goals. 8. Feel free to "OK Boomer" me.
