  1. Lots of things possibly. Could be in season training regimen, nutrition, lack of rest/recovery time, not placing injury treatment/prevention high on the list, etc.
  2. Maybe more rest and less on ice practices is smart
  3. Surprisingly, Pittsburgh is 2nd, but the Sabres have a long history of having high numbers of injuries and longer recovery times. What is causing it? Can something be done about it? Is it a training issue? Do they not let players get proper treatment for their injuries or issue to try nd prevent them from occurring? Are they too reactive rather than proactive? Do they not follow the proper workout regimens that end up leading to increased injuries? Nutrition issues? Not utilizing the Pegula's investment in the most cutting edge sports science to their advantage like the Bills have under McDermott, where they are always in the bottom 5 in man games lost to injury? Clearly to be this consistently poor in an area, something isn't being done properly to help prevent them. There is no way over a 10+ year period a team can regularly be this injury prone. What is the solution?
  4. What's new. Another player injured. Sabres are bringing injuries to new heights. Something needs to be done via their training department, strength and conditioning coaches, nutrition, how they utilize the cutting edge sports science they have access to, etc... Since 2016 they have lost the 2nd most man games to injury of any team in the NHL. When it's this consistent a problem, something is not being done properly to help minimize these constant injuries. in comparison, Bills have ranked in the bottom 5 in man games lost to injury since McDermott has been here precisely because of the focus they put on players getting the proper treatment, rest, training, etc and limiting the amount of distance they run in practice and training camp without days off for maintenance etc... Sabres clearly aren't utilizing this to their advantage.
  5. Injuries have been a problem for a long time with this team...I believe I read since 2016, the Sabres are 2nd in the NHL in man games lost to injury. Shocking considering how cutting edge the sports science department is for the Bills/Sabres and how the Bills are able to utilize this as a major tool to consistently rank in the bottom 5 in man games lost to injury in the NFL year after year, but the Sabres are the complete opposite.
  6. Yes that is my whole point...the Sabres are constantly having goalies hurt while the rest of the league doesn't. You pretty much just stated my case.
  7. And goalie injuries...have never seen a team have goalies get injured with such regularity as the Sabres for the past 3 years and they aren't day to day injuries for the most part, they are weeks or months. It's starting to get ridiculous.
  8. It's getting to the point of being ridiculous. Ullmark was always good for a 4-8 weeks worth of injuries every year. Hutton was out for a while. But this year they took it to a whole new level. Literally down to their 4th and 5th string goalies regularly since all of the others have gotten hurt and are going to be out for a while. Anderson, Tokarski, UPL, Subban... How can one team have such terrible goaltender injury luck over the past 3 years? I remember when Miller used to play in 60-70 games a year every year...doesn't seem like we are getting back to that anytime soon the way things are going with injuries.
  9. Can't even imagine...think your kids are safe playing sports and then this random crazy event happens... https://www.yahoo.com/sports/high-school-hockey-player-dies-from-injury-suffered-during-game-135618074.html
  10. If I ever saw Marchand out somewhere, no questions or words spoken, I would simply walk up to him and punch him in the face.
  11. They looked like they just didn't have anything left at the end...probably were lucky to even get it to OT. UPL bailed them out in the 3rd...they were giving up way too many grade A chances to the Bruins... 3 games in 3.5 days will do that to you tho I guess...
  12. 5 out of 6 points on the road trip is huge. Especially picking up a point with someone other than UPL in net and having them actually play well.
  13. Paul Hamilton claimed the goalies are splitting the back o backs, so that would mean Subban. earlier today
  14. Hamilton claimed in a tweet response to a question I asked that the goalies were splitting the back to backs.
  15. UPL is not going back to Rochester. No idea how he is far better in the NHL than the AHL, but he is.
  16. They are going to be stacked.
  17. Dell should be out of hockey. In other news...Utica is ridiculously good...17-1-2 with only 38 goals given up on the year? Are you kidding me? Who is their NHL team? They are going to be stacked pretty soon...reminds me when the Marlow's we're dominating the AHL with all the dudes on the NHL roster now down there.
  18. Dell should be out of hockey.
  19. If we had decent goaltending for those games they were brutal, we would probably only be 3 or 4 points out.
  20. They have a lot of talent on that team and usually play very tight defense and get good goaltending. Looks like they can't score with only 51 goals in 24 games... Anyone have more in depth analysis as to what has gone wrong there?
  21. Do the Sabres have their goalie?? UPL has been pretty fantastic in the games he has played this year
  22. He has played well but for whatever reason it seems like the Sabres want him back in the AHL Don't get why...in 7 games he has a .918 save percentage which isn't bad at all...
