Exactly what we want to see... growth in the other side of their game...they have been improving defensively and in goal. They are learning how to use their speed without the puck to defend and drive other teams crazy when they are in our end. Winnipeg literally didn't have time to look up after crossing our blueline most of the night they were getting swarmed under by multiple Sabres. If they play like that more often and can be more consistent with their swarming defense in that manner they are going to be extremely difficult to beat.

The best thing is even tho we struggle at times at the end of games, they still haven't lost one in regulation...they have gotten 38 out of the 40 points possible, which is pretty phenomenal for such a young team...they never hang their heads or get down, they just come back out and work.

Joker is a solid player for them...you just don't notice him much but he makes sneaky good plays especially in transition.

We've already seen where doing things like this have gotten us, and it hasn't been good. The rest of it I agree with...their defensive zone play yesterday for most of the game was amazing! Literally as soon as Winnipeg enters the zone they were swarmed and basically couldn't get anything going. They had 14 shots until the final 5 minutes of the game. Just super impressive and even more so because Clague was in for Samuelsson. Major growth in this team...they looked lost on D the first stretch Samuelsson was out.

But they didn't, and they haven't all year. 18-0-2 when leading after 2 this year.

We didn't gain any points on the Caps. They got two points. Pittsburgh still got a point.
