  1. I think the problem might be that most of our UFA aren't playing that well, and the ones that are playing well like Kane he probably (rightly) asked a ton for. I mean maybe someone could hope Kulikov or Franson will be a good depth D, but if
  2. I'd rather no trades than bad ones, we don't really need draft picks at this point. Of course a few of our UFA may now leave for nothing when we could have had picks, but it's hard to say.
  3. Yeah. That's another good point.
  4. The Winter Classic is/was a great idea. Adding in the Heritage Classic for 2 Canadian teams, fine. Stadium Series? Over-saturation. It's also BS if we'd have to be the Home team and play in NYC. I know we've held one here already, but as that article points out, it was 10 years ago now. How many Winter Classics/Stadium Series/etc have The Rangers played? Or the Penguins for that matter. Big Market teams get preference I guess, but Buffalo sold out instantly , and it's much better venue than a baseball park. Buffalo always have the best TV Ratings for Hockey games too. We deserve another game in Buffalo.
  5. I'm sure NBCSN is super excited to be broadcasting this game. Hopefully we give them a show..
  6. Who needs to play a full 60 minutes? Apparently we don't. We've done this several times now. I'd love to see what they can do if they play with that intensity all the time, but for now I'll take the comeback win.
  7. Well, I guess we could go hire Claude Julien: https://www.nhl.com/news/c-286509024
  8. I really enjoy this. I'm glad they are doing it again.
  9. I didn't bother with the all-star stuff. I'm glad we're back to regular hockey already. We need to keep winning though. That Dallas loss was brutal.
  10. Great post. I'm definitely hanging in there. Last season was tough. So was the start of this one. Even if we fall short again, I feel like we're finally moving in the right direction.
  11. Ugh. 830pm start time, I get up at 4am for work. A nap may be in order before the game tonight. I hope we can keep this momentum going and carry it into Montreal next week. Maybe we can win this game in regulation. Maybe, take the lead and keep it the whole game, instead of fighting to come back from behind. Crazy talk I know..but I can dream right?
  12. Im a bit astounded. I thought this one was lost when they went down two. Love that they don't quit, and finally seem to have the goalscoring to go with it. And man what a sick goal by Eichel. Thank God no shootout.
  13. Give a Honk for the Goose! Yes. They do. I totally agree/wish they would. But I doubt they because there was already an outcry when they added the loser point. If you went to a 3 point system all the point records would have to be thrown out, and the league probably doesn't want to do that. The Capitals currently have 32 wins and a ROW of 31. I have no idea how many of that 31 were OT wins, but lets just say 5 of them. That's 26*3 + 5*2 + 1*1 = 89 points through 47 games played. A 90 point season is now garbage.
  14. I liked exactly one of those players when they were in Buffalo.
  15. Oh him. I totally forgot about that guy already. Whose the Nashville equivalent of Tom Brady that's going to set Derek Grant up to score all these goals?
  16. I don't get the reference/joke.
  17. I'm hoping we can keep this winning thing going. It's not going to be easy though. Nashville is a good ways behind both Minnesota and Chicago in their division and has St. Louis nipping at their heels. They are 7-3-0 in their last 10 with a 3 game winning streak, so they've been playing pretty well too.
  18. So I guess he's not sick still?
  19. Foligno has had a good season imho. He works hard and I think he deserves to be on the second line right now. In the long run though I don't want to see Foligno and probably not Carrier there either. At least once Nylander is ready. Both are probably bottom 6 guys on a good team.
  20. Here are the projected lines:
  21. Well lets hope they bounce back after that last game. My hopes of a playoff spot (which were already pretty low) might be gone completely now, but maybe they'll make it interesting down the stretch. We've seen them play good, complete games this season, just not consistency, and often not when it counts the most. I'm hoping they at least make progress at consistency for the rest of the season. It looks like Ennis is back tonight, and may play tomorrow, but apparently they are taking it slow. Nilsson may be out with an illness so Ullmark has been called up.
  22. This is also the anthem of Buffalo Sports, at least in the last decade. If you're so convinced we won't make the playoffs, why are you bothering to watch?
