I know the crop of free agents wasn't great. But this seems like a really slow/boring couple of days (for all teams). Maybe its just because the draft was so exciting for Buffalo, and we have done nothing but sign a couple depth guys so far.

60 points vs 40. That's not even close to being the same. Plus Brower only got 3 points in 14 playoff games. And only 19 in almost 80 games. i.e. his playoff production is half compared to his regular season

Also a culture setting. Cal has a similar personalty to ROR - now we have prospects being shown how to play the game and the level of effort that is expected from them in the AHL - sets them up nicely for us

I like this. Guy puts up great AHL numbers. Didn't play much in the NHL last season - coach didn't like him apparently. Maybe he was their CoHo

Of the UFA market, the two players with the worst wins-above-replacement fancy stats were Stafford and Beauchemin. Paul Martin came out very well in that category. I'll take Martin

That depends. If he is asking for more than 8 million per, this is a wise decision. No one will offer more than 7.3, thus bringing his price down. Plus it might humble him a bit if he has to sign for less than he wanted because no one thought he was worth what he wanted
