my "cave" is my bed, cause I am usually in there when the sabres play haha at least in the regular season. during the playoffs I am very superstitious which includes not sitting during the game or intermission.

Well I am not saying no one messed up. Maybe thats the case, but maybe they gambled and tried to win the faceoff 5on5 (which can happen as well) and suprise washington with an extra attacker coming out of nowhere. Maybe Lindy will be asked tomorrow and we will find out. ALthough I doubt they would admit if they messed up... haha

Am I the only one who thinks that all this Grigorenko talking hurts the Sabres more than it helps? I mean every player of the team is asked by the media what about grigorenko, do you like him, does he play good enough, will he stay here and so on. I am glad we have a decision soon so that we can focus on hockey again.

I think I still can not judge until game 20 or 25... The first few games in Buffalo we were going nuts about how awesome this kid is.

Sadly most players hardly remember the play for "if they win the faceoff" because they hardly get a chance to use it.

Well expect the unexpected... I looked at the timeout again. Cody is standing right next to adams listening closely. He is going behind the boards and adams is still talking to him and and Foligno and I highly doubt that Cody is listening so closely on what to do and steps next to adams behind the bench and no one notices it.

On Faceoffs yes Devils were 29th in the season made the playoffs and were the worst team in the playoffs and made the finals. However thats how they play. Devils are a defense first team. They like "not having the puck" the wait for errors or force the opponent into them and counter attack. I think thats not really a sabres scheme thats why I think losing faceoffs hurts Buffalo more. If you add toughness and grit its more a sign for dump and chase then sit back and counter attack.

I checked it moments ago. There were only 5 players on the ice and a 6th one came on a few seconds later. I doubt that this was a mistake They left the spot completely open in which Hodgson jumped in. If they would have had the puck, Hodgson would have been wide open. Because No Caps player saw a player there before. I think it was a set-play.

What makes me said is the Faceoff Stat. Last year Roy and Gaustad were our only Centers above 50%. Both are gone now so it's something that could have been looked at in the entire off-season. Now they are dead last in the league here. Faceoffs dont win you games but a win now and then definitely helps.

First period was probably our best of the year. After WSH made it 1-1 it looked as if self-confidence was gone. Best line might have been 82-55-25. 82 and 25 creating chances while 55 backing them up on defence. Ennis had a strong game, Myers looked good out there. Overall a step forward but not consistent enough for 60 minutes. Tuesday can not come soon enough. Gotta rebound against the Leafs. I think once again. self-confidence is the biggest issue at the moment.

Last season the sabres had 2 players who were above 50% on faceoffs. Roy and Gaustad... both are gone now so you could have seen that coming...

And Move Ott to Center for Faceoffs and let him switch with Jochen after that...

Needs to improve: PowerPlay Defensive Breakouts Secondary Scoring Passing-play Faceoffs And our D-Men need to stop making those along the board passes behind the net in their own zone. 9 out of 10 times they lose the puck after the third pass that went from the one dmen to the other.

Difficult decision. I think it has been tough for him. you play 6 days with leino that its hecht and yesterday its Gerbe... Not much time to get used to your linemates. He had a good third period yesterday. I think the skill isnt the problem its more that he hesitates to much from time to time. Afraid to make mistakes...

Sunday evening I was convinced everyone one here thought we would win the Stanley Cup going 48-0 and 16-0. People tend to forgot how big of an issue it is that there was no pre-season. Some teams handle it better than others. We are still 2-1 this season and yes some things need to improve. Mainly the PP, Myers and secondary scoring. But guys chill! What if they run over Carolina tonight winning 6:0 or something like that. Is it "OMG we are so gonna win the cup" again?
