As a german I obviously have a closer look on Ehrhoff Hecht and Sulzer and I think Sulzer has some flaws in his game in front of his own net. However he still has done a good job so far. I like that he takes the shot if he sees the chance and he usually hits the net. there is a difference between thinking about in 10 minutes after the game and thinking about the game tomorrow in the morning.

That after his best game of the season? Broke up several plays... 7 of 10 faceoffs won against crosby who only lost 12 in total. Got an assist on otts goal. He had pathetic games this year but definitely not today.

you 2 obviously never played ... haha sometimes a game like that can be a huge huge boost to the mindset.

I would like to see O'Reilly in Buffalo. But not for Foligno,or Grigo or Girgs or McNabb or Pysk or Armia or McCabe... so I think there isn't a scenario that would see us make a trade I would like ... haha

Maybe the sabres psychologist is just doing a bad job. :D Or he talks the players into playing bad because he hates ruff and regier :D

I was wondering about that multiple times... In Europe almost every team has a mental coach/sport psychologist. Players can go to them if something bothers them. And they can talk about stuff and the coaches aren't involved here. Wondering if the Sabres have a person like that as well. 99 out of 100 players will tell you it helped them.

I still stick to the 90% of the reason why this team is playing bad right now is confidence/mental status related.

Without a doubt I agree. But never know. What I mean is basically I don't see him on this team next year.

I think Grigo needs to be put with skilled guys. Line 2 with Speedy Ennis and grit-guy Foligno who can score as well. Play Grigo 15 minutes+. Let him make mistakes. Let him learn on the ice. Ehrhoff and Myers are supposed to be our Top2 D-Men right? So put them together and let them work it out. GIve the opponent something to think about because usually both of them can skate end to end and force the opponents D to move back. Myers is not on top of his game right now, and neither is Ehrhoff but let them work it out. Hecht and Kaleta both on line 4. Both are on 1 PK unit so if they go on the PK you don't have to juggle the lines after a PK to even out ice time.

My Lines would have been: 26-19-29 ; 63-25-82 ; 42-9-21 ; 36-55-8 ;; 10-57, 52-44. 6-24 However I think Gerbe has written "Trade" all over him.

same here. 12Gp 1G 3A 4PTS +4 13Gp 1G 3A 4PTS -6 Leopold I don't agree with for example sitting Sulzer because it's easier due to his salary...The players who play good play the players who don't sit. That's how it should be. I think Sulzer has been more than solid and realiable on the D.

I would like to see Grigorenko between Ennis and Foligno tonight. Give the kid 15 minutes TOI and let him learn by doing. Doesn't matter if he makes mistakes now and then.

On the other hand. He has to deal with a lot of idiotic callers who think they have the best hockey knowledge in the world.

In my opinion its a forward problem. How often to we see one DMen send the puck to his partner... Looking up the Ice...passing back to his partner.Looking up the ice. Still nothing there.... Pass to the partner... And eventually trying a difficult pass that hardly connects. Result: The puck is gone. Last night there was one moment when Ehrhoff took the puck and skated end to end. I think we need more like that. Ehrhoff, Myers and Sekera are all able to do that but we hardly see them doing it. the Opponent usually knows ok The D will pass to one of the 3 forwards and thats just predictable.

Without a doubt, Vanek should have had more ice time. Hell even Grigorenko should have had more icetime.

Pretty sure he will be back against Ottawa.

I dunno why Vanek didn't have much icetime but overall the forwards with the fewest EV icetime last night were: Scott,Kaleta,McCorcmick and Hecht. Hecht had many shifts because he was 8-1 on faceoffs after the 2nd period. Overall Boston knew how to Handle, CoHo,Pommers and TV so they struggled last night. Beside that Boston had a few days off and had more jump.

Sad party for Germany is: their top Defenders: Ehrhoff,Sulzer,Seidenberg,Holzer,Schubert(former Senator),Hördler None of them could play in the qualification tournament. 4 NHLers, 2 injured. In the end we gotta pray next year that Thomas Vanek does not get injured at the Olympics :D
