  1. The parties have respected leaders? :p
  2. In general, because people freak out when the government tries to regulate food contents (see: NYC and large sodas). But there is still some stuff like the healthy school lunch movement. As to alcohol, one can only assume the lesson of prohibition was learned ;) Then I was lumping it together with life. Methinks I was confusing doctor office questionnaires with health insurers. My bad.
  3. Well, you almost assuredly pay less for your health insurance than an otherwise similar smoker. Same if you have any life insurance. And many (most?) health plans pay for gym memberships assuming you can demonstrate a certain attendance level over a set period of time. I get reimbursed up to $150 every 6 months so long as I sign in an average of twice per week.
  4. I expect him to be. Even if he doesn't start the year there, I think he's a full timer by the end.
  5. I'm thinking 2. Another junior year then 1 in Rochester.
  6. I guess my point is I'm not comfortable paying him much more than he's making. I don't expect him to get $4 million offers, but I don't think low-3s is terribly unlikely.
  7. I'm not sure I've ever been so excited about a 3rd round pick. Really night have knocked this one out of the park.
  8. Samson could retire today and he'd still go down as the best of the Reinhart brothers.
  9. At what cost? Overpaying for guys like Foligno is one of the biggest mistakes teams make in a cap world. I like how he's developed (particularly if he keeps it up all year) but if he is after $3 million or more, I'm out. I think I can replace what he brings for a lot less than that.
  10. Assuming Foligno plays the rest of the year the way he has the last 50 games, my only issue with retaining him is going to be price. I'm just not sure a 3rd line checking-style winger is a guy you pay market value to while you still have contracts like Moulson and Bogosian on the books if you're still looking to upgrade the roster.
  11. I'm not sure this is right. It's my understanding they have him learning LW in Rochester because that's where he has a better chance in the top-6, with Nylander our only long term piece there whereas Reinhart and Okposo have the right side locked down.
  12. Maybe I'm being too cynical, but I could easily see the Dems being against it because if he ends up being a smoldering disaster, that sets them up nicely for the midterms and in 2020.
  13. From what I saw, I thought he actually played well tonight.
  14. There are forcefields around opposition empty nets. I'm convinced.
  15. It's not always pretty, but coming into tonight Lehner's SV% was .922. He's at .958 tonight.
  16. Sit down, see Buffalo score. You're all welcome!
  17. One unit on Buffalo.
  18. You'll probably get more sleep in the real world than you will in grad school (assuming you're doing grad school and working in some form). Anyway, I normally go through a cycle of ~3 days with little sleep followed by a crash day.
  19. I'll patiently wait for you to admonish yourself. That's without even touching on the wholly disingenuous "without screening them for ISIS ties" portion of the statement.
  20. Absolutely. Let him heal. FWIW, Murray said he wasn't willing to mortgage the future for a player who wouldn't be on the team when we were winning the Cup, not that he wasn't willing to part with futures. You should have listened to the full interview before ranting :p What I got out of it was that he didn't anticipate being able to accomplish it, hence the lack of plan to trade for a Dman.
  21. The truly elite goaltenders do. A standard Price season versus a league average goalie is basically the difference between a 50 goal scorer and a 20 goal scorer. Anywho, it really was a bush league move to let Montoya get shelled that badly. Yeesh. Yea, well, "only" 6 of the goals scored were even strength.
  22. Apparently Shea Weber forgot to bring his leadership tonight. Wait, what's that? Price isn't playing? Oh.
  23. Toughness as in willingness to engage in board battles and attack the puck? Absolutely (and Kane has this toughness, btw). Toughness as in giants on ice throwing body checks? Nope, sorry, that stuff means zero and teams recognize it.
  24. I have even worse news for you: that wasn't rain.
