I believe the story goes he was looking to use Stewart as part of a bigger deal but it fell through late, and by that time Boston had already added forward depth. In his (meager) defense, Boston was shopping Spooner to every single team in the league and nobody would trade pucks for him. Still, he got a worse return for Stewart than taking that trade even not knowing Spooner would be good, and that's on him.

No team has the right players to play Dan's style. Dump and chase can work, but it requires two things: 1) the right players (which you are right, we don't have) and 2) an aggressive forecheck, which Dan does not implement more than like 5% of the time. We need to run an aggressive forecheck to retrieve pucks, especially since we don't have the players to do it naturally. Watch LA: yes, they play(ed) suffocating hockey and owned the puck in the offensive zone after dumping it in...but they did it with a heavy, two-man forecheck with strong support to regain and maintain control. The fact that Bylsma is not doing this is a huge knock against him.

The reason I recommend a max of five is to help students focus on what they really want to do--nothing is worse than being in a graduate program where none of the faculty really specialize in what you're looking to research, or they are...but haven't been active with it in a decade. Having a strong idea what you want to study helps you hit the ground running and maximizes your chances for faculty wanting to co-author with you. Also, money :lol: From what you've said here, your grades are sterling, so don't sweat the acceptance rates. I also try to emphasize not just the school, but the area and social aspects of the department.
