  1. I'll miss the first hour due to class. Sadness.
  2. Not breaking news: I've never seen speed like McDavid has. He's Usain Bolt on skates.
  3. It worked! :p
  4. Wing or center :p I anticipate wing, unless Reinhart can grow to handle the O'Reilly matchups and/or Eichel morphs into Kopitar defensively. Madness.
  5. Could be (when Mittelstadt/Nylander are in NHL year #2). But I think next year is possible.
  6. Yea, but he is on pace for 82 assists :p
  7. Yea, just looked it up. Seems to me if we part ways prior to next season, it's a $22 million dead cap charge. After next season, that drops to a very manageable $7.8 million. Post with some good stuff on Tyrod at the top: https://twoqbs.com/in-season/nfl-quarterback-rundown-week-4/
  8. I love Evander's Twitter more than his on ice play. That stuff is phenomenal
  9. I'm top lazy to look, but I believe this is accurate. However, the team he gets traded to would be saddled with a similarly large cap hit (I think), making a trade unlikely. He's probably a contract we have to cut our way out of.
  10. Honestly, I knew what you meant, I'm just being argumentative  Separately, Dareus is so gone the moment it's not crippling financially.
  11. Because he already passes more than he runs?
  12. You're now arguing something that isn't being argued. He does run a lot. He also...passes a lot. Dismissing him because he runs a lot is nuts.
  13. My interpretation (maybe I'm projecting here) is that people aren't saying we *can't* afford him, rather, questioning the wisdom of doing so (for a variety of reasons).
  14. I always forget about Tarkenton! Great call.
  15. Manziel wasn't in the same stratosphere as Jackson athletically. RG3 was transcendent until Shanahan let his knee explode on the field. My point was very few players have come into the league with Jackson's ability. You can't just try to equate him to your average college spread running QB who can't throw. That's not his comparable. His comparables are Vick, Newton, McNabb, RG3, or as a blast from the past...Steve Young. Vince Young was similar athletically, but had nowhere near Jackson's arm. There's a really big difference between not trusting a college run-first QB who can't throw and not trusting Jackson simply because he runs a lot. I'll take Jackson over Darnold any day. It's also worth noting that if the season keeps going this way, we're not sniffing a top-5 pick. Whoever we take is going to have question marks.
  16. Newton. Wilson. Roethlisberger isn't a forward running, but he's made his mark by extending plays and improvising. Vick in his prime had playoff success. Rodgers is of course really good in the pocket, but his mobility makes him special. The other thing is, we don't see a ton of QBs with this skill set. The real run first guys in college never get a real shot (thinking someone like Pryor here), so the sample is really limited. As a result I don't think you can look at "hit rate" or anything like it at face value.
  17. In the traditional, 5-7 step drop, stand still while surveying the defense, and throw? No. But in today's NFL, that's less important than ever IMO. He can function in the pocket from a shotgun. He's not Vince Young.
  18. I disagree completely. One of this biggest strengths is he reads the field while moving. And his athleticism is a cross between Vick and Newton. He's just off the charts physically.
  19. Little? Do you mean as in build? He's not short.
  20. Agreed. It's fair value today, so if he gets any better, it'll be a real win for the Jets.
  21. Not a fan? I'm pretty smitten, myself.
  22. We could only be so lucky to have them on the ice at the same time. Eichel might get 3 points in 1 shift.
  23. On a slightly (see: much) lighter note, I finally got the mouse that was plaguing my apartment. Any ballpark on how long without any signs I should wait before being confident it was just one?
  24. This atrocity cannot be allowed to stand.
  25. We're really due to find a diamond in the rough. I can't say I expect it, but with his AHL numbers and underlying NHL numbers, we shouldn't be shocked if he shows something.
