  1. But I and those posters might be wrong too, we're still in the "allegedly" stage
  2. Right, 0.1 without the % sign implies that this is a typical probability range of 0 -> 1, and so 0.1 = 10% chance
  3. I'm pretty sure the widely accepted view of Bills fans is that Sean McDermott brought in Brandon Beane to be his GM, after the Pegulas hired him as coach. But Beane came onto Eric Wood's podcast yesterday and said that he and Sean had never discussed that, and that Sean McDermott wasn't even in his interview for the job, with Terry and Kim. BTW, I like them both, but I definitely like Beane a little more than Sean.
  4. Smith's PK last season was 12th. The main player differences between this year and last year are Lazar and Frolik instead of Rodrigues and Sobotka. Plus only part of a year of Scandella. I think Lazar and Frolik are just as good at PKing as these two. I don't know enough to comment, but I've read posters claiming that the PK strategy is different this year, has a different name for the base setup. I don't think that would be Smith's idea, since whatever he did last year worked reasonably well.
  5. The only thing that worries me about Ralph is our offense's continued inability to join the rest of the league in complexity of play and scale of chances. But I won't blame that on him until I see it happening with a better roster.
  6. Tage Thompson has been absolutely lost and horrendous in every NHL minute he's ever played. Never mind top line minutes, I'll believe he's ready for NHL minutes when he shows it for the first time in his career 10% isn't super low Thank you i get so puzzled reading about how fast this guy is (and how great his hands are) theyre both mediocre at this level
  7. He's already a good NHL D, and he's noticeably better than he was last year.
  8. I still think Ralph would be fine with a functional roster
  9. Yep. A team that just had their season end versus teams that are ramping it up for playoff races, the results will not be pretty. i think they'll swoon a little while longer and then rebound back to "normal" for a bit at the end
  10. This is absolute madness we play like 5 games against some of the hottest and top teams in the east coming right up and could win all 18 and still potentially miss
  11. I missed like 20 minutes of game time but I didn't think this game was half as bad as this thread reads which is surprising considering our players dreams were just crushed while theirs are still playing for something
  12. I don't think a man can stumble into an NHL GM position with a plan that isn't by all accounts reasonable Jason has just never had remotely inspiring execution If you were to lay out the details of these three seasons to fans and to Jason in June of 2017, not a single fan, not Jason himself, would say that this is what should be expected and described as successful. If you did the same thing for each of these three seasons individually to both groups at the beginning of each one, or during the offseason before each one, both groups would have at the time uniformly called all of them failures. It's been three years of whiffs whose consequences would be accurately forecasted every single time by the average internet poster
  13. Simmonds waived to come here from the Devils and be a part of a playoff push. The Devils are 2 points behind us now
  14. Good news!
  15. Was it here that someone posted a screenshot of his beer league stats compared to other players? It was pretty comical
  16. What happened with Greiss?
  17. Specifically I'd like one of those big three mentioned first, or one of Anton, Halak, Greiss
  18. Woah. That's a good list. we need to end up with one of those guys.
  19. I read that we are down 3 draft picks over the next 2 years too, with this product. I wonder if the"Murray traded all of our picks" crowd will notice that not only has Jason made fewer picks and fewer high picks in his 3 drafts than Murray in his 3, but has also put us in a pick deficit the next two years
  20. At this point they are what they are, and 4 point swings could be easily accounted for by random circumstance. I hope the Pegulas understand what the team is and aren't making decisions based off of a 5 win in 6 game stretch, nor a losing streak out west this stuff is built into all NHL seasons, its the level that your team oscillates around that's the important marker, and ours is safely mediocre
  21. Yep. Dude looks cooked
  22. Forty goals is a big deal. So is a hundo-pee.
