  1. He's in Roch again. Read somewhere that Neuvirth might be ready for the second half of the b2b.
  2. haha, knew it was comming. Didn't take long.
  3. "No goal". That would be appropriate on the night of the Sabres #39 retirement.
  4. I don't think the goal counts if it slips behind the backup goalie sitting on the bench. It would have to be in our net.
  5. you also have to take account whom the player plays with and how the team fairs to the rest off the leauge. SEL (OR SHL which it's called) is a very defense-oriented league and there is generally less scoring than in the NHL. Possler and Olofsson is playing in a trainwreck team that has been MODO this past seasons. They both have about 0.5ppg this season and are counted on to provide some scoring. I usually watch some MODO games but I'm not that into the SHL anymore (Ullmark was a beast before this season also). Nylander (toronto's first round 2014 pick) is a 1ppg player on that team right now, and you probably know about the hype around him, he's probably a good measuring stick. Btw, I don't know if you guys heard about this but Modo has been so desperate to generate interest in the team so they brought in Brashear (yeaah..). But you're right it's hard to know how these players fair in the NHL. Example: Johan Larsson. he, Silverberg (Anaheim) and järnkrok (nashville) had a great youth-line together in the SHL-team Brynäs a couple of years ago when they won the leauge playoffs. If i remember correctly I think Larsson captained that juniors team that won gold also, and he was really valuable for Brynäs but Silverberg was the star. (they had some other guys in Brynäs also: Svedberg (boston), Mattias Ekholm (Nashville), Elias Lindholm (carolina)). From Brynäs website about Johan Larsson a couple of years ago "Larsson will find succes in the NHL. He combines skill, hockey sense, strength with a physical playing style. He's and all-around player and could be used in every possible situation"- ("Larsson kommer att lyckas väl i NHL. Han kombinerar sin spelskicklighet, spelsinne och teknik med en fysisk spelstil och fysisk styrka. Han är på så sätt väldigt all-around och kan av coachen användas på flera olika sätt.")
  6. Naah, I'm just procrastinating. I'm supposed to be studying for an exam.
  7. There wasn't much to see in the first and second period. The third was worth watching, some good looks . Grigo, hodgson and stewie had a good game together.
  8. Victor Olofsson with a secondary PP assist on Swedens 2-1 goal against the finns. SWE leads 3-2.
  9. Then why isn't every playoff team searching for a bottom pair defenseman throwing picks at us for lapsy? I don't think you want to be a Carrion team come playoff time, tanking for 16th doesn't seem so strategic. But I might be wrong. Perhaps weber gets benched every now and then because he's playing great.
  10. dang it! The swedish stereotype is too strong in me. Cannot. Resist. Those delicious meatballs! (acctually ate it for lunch today)
  11. Naaah, my english isn't that great so I choose the lurker life instead. Otherwise the grammar nazis would have to bust their ###### off. have seen way too many horrible defensive lapses from him to call him fine. He's not been the worst off the lot this year, but he has been a damn fine tool in the tankbox these past seasons.. The physical presence does not help when he leaves the slot wide open. I'm not a statistics guy but it seems like we never have possession when he's on the ice.
  12. not so sure you can call balls, the mess, weber and strachan NHL defensemen either.
  13. Except it wasn't even the second night of a b2b game.
  14. Exactly what I'm thinking. When he's finally playing at a great level with consistency (hopefully the offense will come), almost everyone is calling for his head. Envision the scenario if we trade him and Zadorov and Risto starts slumping and regress, then we would regret trading him. We don't have any problem with the cap, quite the oposite we barely make the floor. Unless we bring in a couple of veterans I don't see us having any cap-issues the comming years. And by that time we probably know for sure what our strenghts and weaknesses is.
  15. @BuffNewsVogl- "The Sabres have returned to practice -- with two exceptions. Tyler Myers and Cody McCormick are absent.". Just throwing some wood into the fire.
  16. Any speculations? Benoit in for strachan, is it strachan?
  17. Perhaps the most important thing to take from that article is that Djurgården is a playoff contender searching for a center to solidify their middle before playoff time, and Larsson was apparantly intrested in that opportunity. So drama may come earlier!
  18. A buddy (former hockeyplayer who has connections too Larsson) of mine told me about a month ago that Larsson wasn't very happy with his situation in NA and that he was contemplating going back home to Sweden, I didn't take it so serious back then because I thought Larsson would be finding himself in buffalo at the season opener. Fast forward to today when a Swedish newspaper reported that some swedish teams are now very intrested in him and have apparently been scouting him, and they have been surprised about his shown interest. Source in Swedish: www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/hockey/sverige/shl/djurgarden/article19790791.ab I translated the most noteworthy -"We're searching for center, and he is an interesting name. Definitely a player that we're looking at. But that he would be this intrested is more than I knew, says Stoppel (Vice GM for Djurgården in the SHL). Stoppel- There are players who ended up in a role in the back yard, which is not the role they wish to find themselves in, even in the AHL, he continues."
  19. I hope it's just a matter of time before Ted's gone, can't stand his style of hockey and suckitude. Why isn't there a "Ted Nolan needs to go"-thread already? Seems like Myers is quite feed up also @BuffNewsVogl-"Myers-Going into the third we're only down one, and we come out even worse than we did in the first two. Something's got to change here".
  20. 16SOG vs 3SOG against Florida.. That's embarassing.. What's up with all the dump and chase? It seems like the only player that carries the puck into the zone this season is Myers when he goes for it.
  21. Myers is looking really good out there, best sabre imo heading into 3rd.
  22. It's way more funny for swedes, puppa is ###### in swedish. EDIT: I was not allowed to spell that word (the thing between the female gender legs)
  23. I wouldn't mind seeing Adam start the year in buffalo, so he can make a real push for a spot.
