Let us know how that goes.

RJ has been so much a part of my life......a soundtrack for most of it. Congrats on his trip to Toronto and a little piece of frozen immortality. http://wgr550.com/Re...-Bound/13386106 I'm not sure if I have a right to be, but part of me is swelling with pride for him.

And probably the single invention most responsible for depopulating it. :D

Labrum tears are pretty common, and it is not surprising that Kessler was expected to play through it.

Believe it or not I broke exactly even. Played a bunch of TRI, EXB, keying on Calvin Borel.... but got it all back on I'll have another. Fun day.......

There is nothing sadder. I know. My sincere sympathy.

He's a genius.

Is there any source that says he asked to be traded? Gillis never said it. I think what he said was worse though This piece pretty much said the opposite: "Cody Hodgson is adamant he had not asked for a trade from the Canucks and was surprised to leave the NHL team in a trade with Buffalo that reconfigured both teams on Monday. Hodgson, 22 was swapped along with spare-part defenceman Alexander Sulzer to the Sabres near the NHL trade deadline for unproven power winger Zack Kassian, 21, and extra defenceman Marc-Andre Gragnani. “I was as shocked as anyone,” Hodgson told The Province on Monday evening. “I didn’t see it coming. I really like the city and the fans and the guys are great. But I understand it’s a business and I’m moving on to a new opportunity.” http://sports.nationalpost.com/2012/02/28/cody-hodgson-denies-he-asked-canucks-for-trade/

My question would be why as a GM, was Gillis spending most of his time with a rookie already under contract? The kid had no leverage at all. What ever happened to "Earn your time kid." It might have been just an agent problem.
-
that's why I don't expect the Pens to move Staal in the next 8 months.
-
So you question whether or not the Sabres did due diligence getting Hodgson? I think they probably knew the issues. I am sure there are people in Vancouver questioning whether or not Gillis did his due diligence given Kassian's history, and recent scratching. I still like the trade on a purely hockey level. Kassian might end up in jail someday, and Hodgson might be a serial whiner. But neither might happen as well. These kids mature.

I now hereby proclaim that we are officially in the Sabre off-season.

On a scale of 1-10 of what matters to players..... Ice Time - 10 Coach - 4

Schenn is probably a guy that was moved up too quickly. He probably would have benefited more from a couple of seasons in the AHL, rather than playing 3rd pairing minutes. Tough kid, who looks lost half the time in my opinion. And for a kid projected as a shut-down player he was just brutal on the PK. He could turn it around, but no doubt Burkie would love to unload that contract if he could get a good return, esp. given how Gardiner looks to be the #4 guy.
-
No way would I trade Hodgson for Luke Schenn. Do elobarate.....what do you see in Luke Schenn that I'm not seeing?

There is no way Foligno continues at the rate he was going at when he comes back to the NHL. Foligno has made remarkable progress in his game in the last two years, but yeah, I would expect him to go into a funk at some point. Most usually do.

It isn't easy. Power Forwards are usually slow to develop, and changing systems as a rookie doesn't help either. Kassian may pay off for them down the line.

Suter should make bank.

Add an L and an E and you got LOVE.

Not sure how I came across this....Right Away, Great Captain. Hell of a song.

Anderson Cooper loses it over Dyngus Day...

I think Hodgson is the type of player that can be a second line pivot for years to come. I love his vision, and passing, and he's got a knack for protecting the puck in tight spaces that leads to higher percentage shots for line-mates. He's really not the kind of player that is going to dazzle you with open ice moves - but Hodgson is a really smart player and he plays within himself. Which means he's not going to make many mistakes and he's really tough to play against. Give him another year and I think he's a regular 25 g 35 A type of player. Give him a training camp and he could play 1st-3rd line...but he looks like a natural 2nd liner to me.
