  1. So Edmonton would have to in turn waive or trade Bryz or Scrivens....Washington: Holtby or Neuvirth... Philly: Mason or Emery.....Isles......well that leaves the Isles....but with Snow there is no predicting what they would do. My point is only he has little trade value without an injury somewhere in the league.
  2. Trade him? What do you think his value is right now? Try this drill: Find one team that would pick up Enroth right now if you waived him?
  3. I think you need at least one vet as an option in net. But that's just my bias.
  4. If Miller is traded there is most likely a goalie coming back. For example a trade with St. Louis......Halak or Eliot starts over Enroth. Halak is straight up better. Ad Halak. Elliot is about equal...but more experience and size. Ad...Elliot Most trade scenarios I see this playing out.
  5. I'd trade Moulson for Kassian straight up. Vancouver needs to match scoring with Chicago if they make the playoffs. Kassian in Buffalo would have a chance to get real minutes.
  6. Pominstainer with his 20th goal for his 7th 20 goal season. His next point is his NHL 500th.
  7. Anchor Bar man, I see.
  8. DUFFS!!!
  9. I'm still very optimistic about Kassian, but it is one step forward - two steps back for players like him. He could turn into a bull in front of the net - but for now he prefers the perimeter. He could become a monster in the corners - for now - he's not a very good forechecker.(good with possession however) He could become a solid two way player - for now he's a defensive liability. He could be a top 6 player - for now he's a 10 minute 3rd liner that gets time on 2nd unit power play. He's a very teasing player - great hands and size - but also the questionable skating that comes with it. I think he's really 2 years away from becoming a consistent player. But I think he will get there. Vancouver, however, is running out of time: in two years the twins will be 35, Luongo 36.....and their top D pair into mid-thirties. Furthermore, I don't think Torts is going to give Kassian quality minutes. Don't be surprised to see Vancouver move him. Vancouver is going to have cap issues next year, and Kassian's entry level deal is already over. How much do you pay Zack Kassian if you are Mike Gillis?
  10. He could....but once H. Sedin comes back, and Torterrella comes back from suspension......Zack is going to be buried at 10 minutes a game. If Vancouver adds a piece at the deadline - Kassian could be traded or, quite likely, a semi-regular guest in the press box. He's just not going to get the minutes IMO. He's not Torts guy. So nfreeman, I'd take the bet.
  11. Not quaint at all.... In the hierarchy of hockey dreams....it goes like this 1. Lift Lord Stanley's Cup 2. Win Olympic Gold Medal for Country Except when you are a Euro....it is reversed. The love of a particular club team or city really is far down the list unless you grew up in that city.
  12. I think I got it right now. He can't be traded until 28 February.
  13. Seeing that this day isn't a Leap Year, O'Reilly can't be traded until one day before the first day of March.
  14. Now if he is traded and those picks are spun for other assets, we have a first novel of a title.
  15. Craig Patrick. ...................yes. yes. yes. I feel like I've just swallowed a bottle of Viagra. Full disclosure: I did just swallow a bottle of Viagra. I'll be calling a doctor. It is going to last more than 4 hours. Joy.
  16. At this point in his career...he's probably thinking the same as Vanek....he'll want to play for a winner. He's not likely to sign.
  17. Moulson will be a cap friendly addition for some club by the trade deadline. He'll get a nice return.
  18. I really can't blame him. He is in his prime, and in Buffalo he's never really had the A team of line-mates. He was probably more gracious than he needed to be.
  19. I hope Ron can find a nice college job...like at Mercyhurst.
  20. Yep. Worst. But take heart, we haven't bottomed out yet. This will get worse yet. Sabres are a one line team - with a young defense. Once Vanek and Miller are traded the team is a "no line" team with stock in Enroth. Sigh. The worst is yet to come.
  21. I rarely post anything political, it is clear to me that Congressional Rules have become more powerful than the Constitution. It is time for 2/3rds of STATE LEGISLATURES to call for a Constitutional Convention to Amend Article 1 of the US constitution. Call your state legislator. He or she can start to change Congress without your Congressman. Article V The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress; provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate Mark Grisanti could start this. I would love to see the Western New York caucus of the New York State Legislature start this.
  22. I said that this week at a lunch. Dead room. Soon they won't get Seinfeld references either. The world is going to hell.
  23. I'm officially naming myself captain for any outdoor games.
