    I would hope the League would suspend Seabrooke at least for the balance of that series. He clearly picked the head, and I'm not even sure if Backes had possession. Nasty, nasty, dirty, hit.

    Draisaitl I would put above Risto, Horvat, and Domi, and Nurse in last years draft. Maybe #7. Of course Nicushskin and Monahan's stock have risen since that draft....but Draisaitl would be high. Nobody was getting comparisons with Jagr last draft.

    A family member got the Elantra which I borrowed for a week. Not as fuel efficient as the sticker. 23 mpg is about what they get, not 28.....and with a small tank. You'll be gassing that baby every 260 miles, which sucks if you are commuting 40 miles a day.

    Brooklyn has become very gentrified in the last 10 years. I think players would like it there. Besides a cab from Barclays to MSG is about $15 tip included.

    He's never focusing purely on the pass...of course his job is to try to stop any shot.....they just don't want him fronting the shot as much by coming out to the top of his crease especially if the defensemen attacks shooter. St. Louis wants an aggressive defense to challenge the shooter, or erase the shooter so the shot is never taken. So Miller's responsibility is more on the back end of the play, where in Buffalo they wanted Miller to see the shot and treated any visible shot as a turnover. (well at least until this year's ineptness settled in). Basically it is a percentages game on some levels. Miller won't be asked to make as many saves, especially with a lead, but he'll have less time to challenge and stand farther back in the crease. That's just how I see it. Just my thoughts.

    The Goalie is part of the defense, St. Louis has a great defense, so they want their D to challenge every shot. In Buffalo the last D usually took the pass away, asking Miller to take the shooter....So Miller has less time to come out now in St. Louis. Really it is easier to ask the goalie to stay back rather than overhaul the approach that the D has been using all year. Easier to have one goalie adjust than change the style of 7 skaters.

    Not you just you....but.... I'm thinking this generational talent label doesn't offer much insight as it is getting used on this board. Are you using it like Hockey's Future? So he's not Gretzky? he's 8.5 tenths of a Gretzky. There's just something weird about such quantifications. I think he's got first line talent though.

    They are asking Miller to take the reads differently - in Buffalo, Miller usually had shooter and he'd play high in the crease taking angles away. in St. Louis they want him to take pass, and he's back farther in the crease to back the play coming at him. Or at least that's what I think I'm seeing.

    If I'm perfectly mercenary about this....I want Miller to win 7 more games and then bomb in the WCF so Buffalo gets the 27th pick.

    Have you ever seen that experiment from Stanford where they put 5 year olds in a room alone with a candy-bar and they tell the kids that if they can wait 10 minutes and not eat the one they will get two candy-bars? They tracked the kids through their Junior year of high school, and subsequently the kids that could wait 10 minutes and got 2 candy bars were the brightest kids according to their SAT scores. Garth snow isn't a bright kid. He eats the candy bar. He takes the pick at 5.
