To make the playoffs, Buffalo could go big in free agency, make short term trades to make the playoffs, and push to be a #8 seed. The Sabres are not, and should not do that. They are expecting to be a lottery -(i.e. a non-playoff )team next year. (And I'm okay with that).

I was never down on Corsi. If anything, a team strength was goal-tending. Nolan gets his own people.That's all.

Good news!

We can qualify this all we want, "tank" or whatever, but next year is a building year. Murray and Nolan aren't planning on making the playoffs or making the moves necessary to put the best possible team on the ice. So whatever is between not trying to lose and not doing the things necessary to make the playoffs - that's what Buffalo will be.

Dallas hasn't been in the playoffs in 5 years. Nobody expected them to make it this year. Nice season for Jim Nill, Ruff-Patrick.

He's made the owners a buttload of money, so the job is probably his for as long as he wants it. 5.2 Billion deal with Rogers for just the Canadian rights over the next 12 years. He isn't going anywhere.

I've never been one to think Weber had much talent. He's a guy that should be scratched most nights. Locker clean out is an emotional day. Half this team should be gone next year. Perhaps Weber too. It's a day that players can tell the press pool the nagging injuries, the pent up emotions, etc. A locker room is a family.
