Do you think McNabb will win a roster spot in LA?

Ekblad is really good. If he's the best player in the draft, do you ignore him, or make room for him? I'm okay drafting Ekblad. I'm optimistic that Myers (or Erhoff) with a package of picks can bring an offensive return. I'm also optimistic that Ekblad-Risto Zadorof-Pysyk would make a very good top 4 for years.

I think Murray got a fair price for that deal. Fasching and Delauriers are both worth a second rounder, especially in this draft, one of those 2nds is the 59th or 60th pick. Buffalo already owns the 61st pick. McNabb probably doesn't make the LA roster. If McNabb doesn't he gets waived and Buffalo has first claim if they want him back.

Juniors with less than 11 NHL games don't count. Not sure off the top of my head how the Euro leagues work for that. I think they count against the 90 player reserve but not the 50.

If I'm Murray and I can get one of these: a young top 3 forward for Myers, an additional top 5 pick, or someone like O'Reilly or Skinner, I do it and draft Ekblad.

With Austin signing I count 33 contracts, and 11 RFA's still unsigned. That's a projected 44 with 6 to spare under 50 not counting UFA's. (probably Ville gets bought out, and a handful of RFA's go un-tendered. But Murray's got a let some people in the system go.)

I think Ekblad is the real deal. I'd flip Myers for Ekblad straight up.

I think you are right, Maloney was my guess. Not 100% sure though.

I really think that is were Ron Rolston best belongs - at a US D1 program. And that is not intended as a cheap shot. I just think that is the best fit.

I think it's cool. Women's hockey has become quite entertaining. Sledge hockey is a different animal all together. World Championships are great news for Buffalo. Not only for themselves, but smaller steps to bigger stuff.

If a team picks up player for a short term solution and then waives the player to keep him as a black ace in the AHL, they are stuck paying him the NHL rates. In other words they are stuck with a 90 percent markup.

The D tournament for Juniors would draw folks from Ontario and WNY, and be a much more logical place to fly into than lake placid with its crappy summer ice. Buffalo is a good host.

I love Lake Placid. My family lived there. But keeping the Lake Placid the center of Amateur hockey pretty much keeps it in obscurity in the US. Time to move it to Buffalo.

Honestly, the facilities in Lake Placid are just not that great. Imagine Bennet High School with two hockey rinks inside it during summer. Stripped of the emotion, that's Lake Placid.
