I think he'll be a more physical pro than Doughty in his own end. I think their slapshots are comparable.
Doughty is the better skater.
I think Ekblad is a potential rock in the lineup of whoever drafts him for the next 15 years. I think he might be the only one in this draft that steps right into the NHL.
I think at this point a right-handed Ryan Suter is the better comparison. (but bigger!)
Just a point. The guys released were held as enemy combatants, right? They were never tried for acts of terrorism.
I ask, because i'm not really sure under what grounds they've been held. Seems like a real gray area to begin with.
Thanks.
I thought this was an interesting piece on the strategic logic of the exchange.

I think you wouldn't have to look very hard for those that keep a gun with the hope that they would never have to use it. If you are pointing a gun at someone and saying stop, is the only purpose "to kill" ?
A decent point. But I really think knowing players at the NHL level isn't as important as knowing all the players and coaches at the AHL level, and perhaps the CHL level if you are building a winner.
Well said. Pretty much echo my thoughts. Unless Pierre has a team of scouts, coaches, and assistants he's ready to bring aboard to a job, he's connections mean little.
Thoughts: How come Dollar General never puts sales signs in the windows? I think it is because they want you to think that everything is a buck. Which it isn't.
For the Sabres, I like Ekblad, Reinhart, and Bennet in that order. Of course, that could change. Some of my appreciation for Reinhart is informed by his Dad.
I think Demko will be there in the second round. I think he's the size Murray likes.
