  1. I was on board with getting rid of Lindy and Darcy before they were gone. But not sure what this has to do with the comment I was responding to. .
  2. I don't buy this at all. Way off the mark IMO. You don't think Montreal fans hate Boston too?
  3. Hawerchuk in Buffalo rolled up points but you always wondered how. He drew second line D coverage at even strength. He was a defensive liability and slow as syrup dried in the bottle. He was however a powerplay genius and would QB the powerplay from the right point. You always held your breath when you thought that the puck might get past him, because he wasn't going to catch up in a rundown. It would seem like he had the secondary assist on almost every goal, so he could have A three point night and you could not notice him. Often he would be benched with a one or two goal lead in the third. He was strong in the corners if he got there in time, and just a bad backchecker. You could not get him off the puck in traffic , just a bull with the puck on his stick. Honestly it was hard to appreciate Dale in his Prime in Winnipeg because so few of the Winnipeg games would get televised.
  4. On the dot, the Russian gave a cross-check downward chuck over the back of Zemgus's wrists. At least that's what I saw. FWIW - Briere was much dirtier with his stick in Sabres uniform.
  5. You're just jealous.
  6. Never believe game one. This will be a long series IMO.
  7. http://nonsense.x2d.org/ A wave loudly clashing against a long shoreline sees the sun.
  8. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaa? Not saying it was clean, but it wasn't premeditated. He just got it over the hands on the same draw. Very different from chopping hacking the vas deferense from behind the play on a different shift. Disagree? (remember, I'm not the one saying Lucic isn't valuable. I just don't think he's the second coming.)
  9. I think that is just a heat of the moment retaliation for that cross check across the wrists.
  10. Ah, to be once spongeworthy.
  11. Do we really need a player that fails to rise to the occasion?
  12. Petty? Here's an idea: how would you feel about someone wearing a Sabres jersey to your wedding reception. How about a Boston Sweater? If one seems seems kind of inappropriate but laughably sweet at the same time, and the other seems really ###### disgusting, you are a normal fan. I can never cheer for a team from the East in the Cup final. But I predate fantasy hockey where the teams no longer matter.
  13. This idea of having the puck sounds pretty advanced to me. Marchand is good at what he does!
  14. I see that you like him. I see that you think he is a unique talent. I think that too. But I don't think most GM's would pay more for Lucic than Rick Nash, Corey Perry, Bobby Ryan or Henrik Zetterberg. They kinda bring something more than Lucic. More talent. I'm guessing you would trade Zemgus for Lucic? I think I would give it serious consideration, but I'm not sure I make that deal.
  15. Reminds me of a young Lindy. Oh the humanity!
  16. And this Eulogy for the Bruins is genius: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/eulogy--remembering-the-2013-14-boston-bruins-204718796.html
  17. And with the Ducks out, the top 6 teams in the regular season are all golfing.
  18. It might. But that entire system began and probably ends with Chara. Unbelievably Muckler chose Wade Redden over Chara and let Chara walk for nuttin at all. Lucic is the cherry. But Chara is the first three scoops of ice cream in that sundae.
  19. Only 12 shots in the series for Lucic. I disagree about that being easy though.
  20. What's being ignored here. I think the most likely thing is that Weise, who can be an agitator himself, got to Lucic. Whatever Weise was doing got under Lucic's skin. And now the guy will be in Lucic's head well past golf season. Weise did his job. Uncool of Lucic to say what he did especially in that context - but Weise who I think got suspended for a pretty brutal elbow to Nugent-hopkins as a Canuck, probably was chirping Lucic all series. Lucic can't respond because the Montreal power play was really good. Weise for the win.
  21. Interesting. Thanks. "Reaching out" is the verbal phrase I hate the most in today's journalism. So deliciously vague. It gives the whiff that something has happened however imprecisely.
  22. I just heard that Botterill wasn't fired. I wonder if he is the interim.
  23. W Interesting point. The Pens identity really became "that team with Crosby." In contrast - most teams still alive in these playoffs are defined by the style they play more than by any one player.
  24.
