  1. I'm reluctant to make this point for obvious reasons/associations ....but Vingneult system is highly similar to Ruff's system 5x5. Active D, puck possession, pass out of the zone, etc.
  2. Sorry. I can't apologize. I'm not keeping track of who is right, who is wrong, or especially who is nasty (life is too short isn't it?), or whatever track records. I really see every season as a new chapter, a new animal. That's not to say I don't enjoy reading peoples opinions (however bazaar sometimes). I do however pay attention to what you've just written. Besides that, any groupings you've created mean nothing to me either. (BTW. I couldn't begin to tell you what Team Stormcloud means, is, believes, or who they are. I just ignore it. It's just not how I'm wired. I'm not really interested in personal track records here, or groupings. Again, I just don't care. I don't care who is aligned with who. It bores me. I'd rather see what you've just written and whether it resonates based on my own observations, if I can learn something I didn't know - that's more fun. ) What I do enjoy is some companionship on the journey that every hockey season brings. That's it. Some people are better companions than others. If it isn't fun - I'm out. But honestly, I'm not keeping score and I'm not really trying to score points. And although it is nice to be well-regarded, I think the nice thing about an anonymous message board is that the messages are independent of whoever you are off-line. I like that nobody has any special status here. Including me. I like what I like.
  3. True, by no means over, but I like to see each team field its best players
  4. I wanted to attend in NJ last year. No luck. Entered through some weird lottery but it was really just a buy tickets ploy.
  5. I imagine Miller has to go to market. there won't be a deal.
  6. Cary Price is out. that sucks. The playoffs just got a little less interesting for me. By far Montreal's best player in the postseason . I get it. I just don't need to be reminded that a team is an original 6 franchise during every broadcast. Also forget the fact that the original 6 were not the original 6. The original 4 were Montreal, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto.
  7. That would be an interesting discussion. I'm still really delighted that Patrick is on board.
  8. I always liked Shero. I would re-hire Shero. He's the best on the market.
  9. Funny. I get more pleasure beating Philly than Florida. What is wrong with me? I know it is wrong I just don't know what to do about it.
  10. In football that's a redshirted college sophomore. early days. Burning his entry level contract, however, was a huge organizational mistake.
  11. It prevents Irish children from becoming a burden. In Carolina it is just to keep Nascar from spreading.
  12. It seems beneath us. We should only cheer for traffic accidents.
  13. We need banners.
  14. Are we cheering for injuries in the Worlds now?
  15. You see it is only a message board. Half the time I don't even bother to see who is writing what. I respond to the message. Who's right been right all along? I don't care. If you feel you were right 5 years ago, or last month, or last week, I don't care. On the reverse of the same coin - I'm not tracking whether you were wrong either. I don't care. Whether you want Milan Lucic in some fictional trade or not....or a blue eyed Taylor Pyatt (that I seem to remember) .....I'll respond to it today, but i'm not digging up the history. So the idea that you keep getting ignored by Sabrespace history is probably true. But it is true of everyone else too. You don't win, you don't lose. But seriously, my memory is declining. I'm just not able to keep track. If I can't keep track, please don't take it personally. But beyond that, nothing is less interesting to me than someones need to be right. It doesn't make for a very interesting discussion.
  16. He don't make kebabs.
  17. ACL's suck, but it isn't the death sentence it once was.
  18. I'm in Weave's camp on this one. Sabres aren't going anywhere unless they can form lines through center ice. I'm fine adding a Lucic type player once you can make lines. But I would much rather have Bergeron than Lucic. Sabres have a chance to add a first line center for the next 12 years. Sabres aren't losing right now because they are weak on the boards or in a scrum as much as they can't move, distribute, or pass the puck with any consistency. I'd be okay moving a top pick if it brings a center that can do that. But minus that....I wouldn't move the #2 pick.
  19. So which knee? looks like Ovi got the right on up and hyperexteded the left to avoid the hit.
  20. Hmmmmm? How to argue the nuance. Lucic is valuable. But not nearly this valuable. Not a complete package at all. Its probably a mute point anyway. He's not for sale. If Sam Bennet is the next Doug Gilmore......you take the next Gilmore. If McDavid is the next Sydney Crosby ...........you take the next Crosby. If Sam Reinhart is the next Tavaras.....you take the next Tavaras. I really don't think Lucic is part of the discussion. But that's just me.
  21. The most overused term in the sport.
  22. Yep. That was good.
  23. Okay...I figured out what you meant. You're content to direct hatred at the Buffalo Sabres. Fine. But I was responding to this part: Fans bases like Buffalo's, that hate successful teams, and good players on other teams, come off as downtrodden people living in third world countries who throw rocks at the arrogant Americans driving past in their Hummers. This is the part that I think misses the mark. Buffalo is unexceptional in terms of disliking other teams. I never want to see Boston win. But I wouldn't mind having : Bergeron, Chara, Krieji, , or Lucic or Marchand in that order. (that's not to say they are available....but no way would I give 2 top 10 picks for Lucic ) Anyhoo......
  24. So at least we have that narrowed down.
