Same here. It is very overwhelming so far, but I am getting the hang of it. I haven't gotten into tactics much either. The two other areas I am iffy on is player ratings (I don't fully get what is good or not. There arent' overall ratings like nhl series.....and I don't fully grasp potential/projections of younger players) and practice (I haven't done the practice feature which I think has a lot to do with developing players).

I just wanted to give a heads up to those of you who enjoy hockey video games. Eastside Hockey Manager got released for PC (15 dollars) this week and is the most in depth hockey (simulation) game. Its for those of you who enjoy the GM mode of NHL 15 except more indepth. Just to give you an idea:

He is going to turn 25 this summer and isn't the biggest guy in the world. With that being said, who knows, maybe he kills it in rochester next year and gets an entry level contract. Regardless, rochester needs some more talent....He reminds me a lot of varone (he is older).
