Bryson with Dahlin? oh joy -
Those Miller teams also had good defensemen that were more seasoned than the current Sabres D. Numminen, 38. Tallinder, 28. Lydman, 29. Spacek, 32. Even Campbell was 27. They may have wheeled and dealed a lot, but those D also knew how to play D, and they had a couple C that played good two-way hockey too in Drury and Hecht. And yes, I agree that Miller was great. He did allow them to take more chances because of how good he was, but in tight games the overall roster was also helpful to him defensively.

It’s interesting to think about, at least to me. Hasek took below average to average Sabres teams to playoffs and almost a Cup. Miller took above average teams to playoffs and almost a Cup. The team has been a basement dweller for over a decade, and everyone wants to blame the goalies. Have some been bad? Yes. But it’s hard to bring a below average team to almost a Cup unless you are Hasek, or even an above average team to almost a Cup unless you are Miller. None of these goalies will ever be Hasek, and the roster for the last decade plus hasn’t provided room for any of the goalies to be a Miller, either. People didn’t like Ullmark, they currently don’t like UPL, and they won’t like Levi either unless the team improves by the time he arrives (and even then, they likely won’t like him just like they didn’t like Miller).

Wait until people realize he isn’t Hasek. Then the pitchforks will be out just like they have been for every Sabres goalie since around 2002. **signs off with a Miller wtf wave**

Makes you wonder about kids named Tage, Kale, Peyton, and Riley. And possibly kids named after Michael Jordan and Mike Tyson.

Let's Make a Deal (Suggestions for K.A. for 2023)
Andrew Amerk replied to PerreaultForever's topic in The Aud Club
Based on what? In September 2020, Jake Allen was traded to Montreal for a third-rounder and two sevenths. At the 2020 deadline, Robin Lehner was sent to Vegas for Malcolm Subban, a prospect and a second-round pick. And just a couple of weeks before that deadline, the Leafs picked up Jack Campbell (and Kyle Clifford) for Trevor Moore and a couple of third-rounders. Alex Nedeljkovic, a 25-year-old at the time coming off a Calder finalist season, returned only Jonathan Bernier and a third-rounder to Carolina. Darcy Kuemper trade to Colorado, they gave up Conor Timmins and a first-round pick. Why is everyone thinking the Sabres would have to give up a 1st and two high prospects for Hart or Demko or even Saros? -

Yes, but how good would he be on the Sabres right now? Would you trade Levi for him straight up? -

My question is…how good is Swayman if he’s on a team not named the Bruins? If he was currently playing for a team like the Sabres that do not know how to play team defense and give up lots of odd man rushes, breakaways, and 2 on 0’s? I honestly haven’t seen enough of him to have an opinion. When some people here had pitchforks out for Ullmark, I pointed out that he was a good G on a bad team, and would look excellent on a team like Boston. Prophecy fulfilled. I feel similarly about UPL. I think he’s a good G who will look a LOT better if/when the Sabres learn to play team defense, or when he ends up with a different team that does. I know there’s some detractors on here when it comes to UPL, but I feel he is better than you think. It seems like there are people on here who can’t see the forest for the trees. Expecting a Comrie or Hart or Demko or insert-any-name to walk onto this roster and play like Hasek is unreasonable, until the team learns to consistently play team defense. -

Should be fun seeing the Laffs building 80% full of people wearing Sabres jerseys. -

I need some of whatever you’ve been partaking in. -
Lidstrom didn’t win the Norris until he was 31, so Rasmus has plenty of time.

Maybe they should wear the black jerseys for home games.

LETS GO SPACERS!!! BIG GAME TONIGHT!!!!! -
I watch all of the games through a free stream and cast it to my TV. I got really sick of the “guess which service the game is on and you don’t have” game. I was using FuboTV for a few years, but they kept jacking the prices, and didn’t even have all of the games. Is it on MSG? Hulu? ESPN? TNT? Netflix? Disney+? I have no idea, but I always know where I can reliably find the game every time now, and not for $15, $65, or $250 a month.
