The highest point in franchise history
Andrew Amerk replied to PerreaultForever's topic in The Aud Club
For me, it was driving from Rochester to Buffalo with my friends just to attend the parties in the plaza in 2006. What an incredible atmosphere and thing to be a part of. I did attend the final game against Carolina in person, but the games I watched in the plaza were actually more fun. -
Yeah, because getting hammered and crashing into a Tim Ho’s is clearly C material.
-
Because he’s not ready. Do you like to eat burgers that have been on the grill for 40 seconds?

Fixing the Sabres Long-Term - Can it be done?
Andrew Amerk replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I never realized Tim Ho’s was ever good at all. The only good thing I’ve ever gotten from them was some Sabres Donut sign thats in my Sabres Cave. -
I’m sorry to hear this. I’ll be praying for the situation.

Just wanted to say that I’m sorry to hear about all of this. Ive been having similar issues with my shoulder for a few years now. A year of PT did nothing - it has only gotten worse. I’m frustrated and don’t know where to go from here. It’s getting to the point where I can barely lift my arm, and it’s incredibly hard to get sleep. I was a baseball pitcher, bowler, and liked to throw a lot of checks in hockey. Not sure if that’s all connected to my issue or not, but I’m very frustrated that I’m not able to play with my daughter in ways that I wish I could.

It’s near lunacy. I get the whole “gotta earn your spot” concept/rhetoric, but that gets completely tossed out of the window when a dozen players that didn’t earn their spot to play with Eichel have been placed on his wing instead of Skinner.

For those interested, you can get all of the Amerks games for $35. https://www.watchtheahl.com/#/

The Skinner problem is the overall usage since he has been here - not the contract. 1. You bring him in, knowing he’s a goal scorer. You decide to use him with your top center. Surprise, surprise, he nets 40 goals. 2. The next season, knowing he’s a goal scorer, you move him away from your top center. You actually put him on a line with no real center. Surprise, surprise, he struggles. 3. Year 3, you bring in a capable veteran center. Okay, great - since you don’t plan on pairing him with your top center ever again, now at least he has a real C to skate with. Oh...wait...let’s NOT do that. Let’s stick him on the 4th line and see what happens. Surprise, surprise, he stinks - still knowing he’s a goal scorer, and having the gift of hindsight to KNOW he needs someone halfway talented at C to get him the puck.

Solving the Goaltending Issue - Can it be done?

ANOTHER GM with zero previous experience faltering? I’m shocked. Would you want a car mechanic with no medical experience performing your heart surgery? Or a man with no political experience running your country? -
Who the hell is Matt Irwin?

Sabres were sloppy and outplayed. -
I believe the word I heard 417 times from Romo was “sticky” 🤮

I remember sitting next to a fan at a game that kept screaming “BROKEN JOCHEN” every time he touched the puck. It was very annoying. I asked him to cut it out, but he pretended he didn’t hear me. -
I considered his name as an addition to McKenzie in my response, but he hadn’t been impressive at all in any games he was in prior to the KC game. He looked serviceable in the game, but I’m not sold.

I only yelled at the TV twice during the game, and this was the first time. I also wondered if McKenzie was called for that play instead, how different it might have been.
