Unfortunately, we probably won’t get that chance. This team is way too slow to react and adapt and make changes. Hall is gone at this point, but if his play improves with a better coach, he probably stays. He came here because of Ralph, but might stay if someone better is coaching. I’d gather he’s sick of being stuck on teams that win the lottery. I also think Hall and Eichel play too similar of styles to be effective together, but then again, a very good coach MIGHT be able to change that. We may never know.

To be fair “to be faaaairrrrrrrr” the players were “running through the walls” for him in the very beginning. Players said they loved him. He’s why Hall came here. Butttttt it seems he grew very stale, very fast. Just move on NOW. The Sabres took a flyer on him, rolled the dice on him, it was a noble gamble. It didn’t work.

Then it looks idiotic that they let Chris Taylor go for no reason. He was doing very good, and looked on the cusp of landing an NHL position. And, a couple weeks later, he did.

I would like to see what Hall does under a coach not named Ralph, before letting that big fish back into the small pond.

Maybe that dude that held the “protest” outside of the arena was onto something. Social media was all over it, but only like 6 people showed up, and the Sabres came out and gave them hot chocolate like “thanks for trying!”

I liked the Ralph hire at the time. Terry whined that he had been burned by the recommendations of Disco Dan and Phil, and went outside the box. Also, the veteran coaches didn’t seem to want to come here, IIRC. I was okay with the dice roll, if it wasn’t gonna be Gronborg. We easily see now that Ralph isn’t the answer. There are a handful of veteran coaches available right now. How much longer do we have to wait for a coaching change? This is the best collection of talent the Sabres have had on a roster in probably a decade or more. The fact that they look like as bad as they do, mathematically cannot be the roster at fault, but the coaching.

100 team meetings since 1/1/21? Today is 2/26/21. There’s been 100 meetings in 57 days? No wonder this team sucks donkey balls. That’s not only unnecessary, but beyond insane. Imagine working with your boss every day AND having to be told what your job is in two meetings every day by him.

So, Ralph is the dad angry at his son (Skinner), and thinks just ignoring him will somehow make him go away? Is this what this is?

I thought Amerks games were suspended until March 1? WTF.

Something that will require synergy, I’d guess.

I’m more surprised that the ownership paying $9 million a year for the next 6 years was okay with “let’s scratch him for the next 3 games.”

After watching him in the first tonight, I thought to myself “he’s not Hasek, but he could be a Miller.”

Eichel didn’t want to play because Skinner was scratched. Also, he thinks Ralph sucks.

This is laughable, at best. We have Tokarski.

Yeah, but Mario has circled back around more than once to support Stevens and give him opportunities with the Pens. Very classy of Lemieux.

This is where the stories likely differ. I believe Stevens was around 27 and in his prime when he had most of the bones in his face broken. He was probably given pain pills after that, and shortly after that incident he was never really the same. I haven’t watched the story on it in awhile, but here it is:
