  1. Here comes the swarm of Sabres fans wanting Torts, when he will be going back to NYR to coach their new shiny object Eichel.
  2. I loved reading Jurassic Park. Don’t knock my Crichton book!
  3. Thank you. I meant to put Fox in there and somehow forgot. Strome, Kakko/Lafreniere, Fox, Georgiev, 1st. The Sabres are in the drivers seat here. If you want Jack, pony up.
  4. Donnie G seemed to have a good ability to adjust in the second games of this seasons odd back to back scheduling. If he is able to apply that to a regular schedule (playing Philly one night in November, and remembering what to adjust in the next game in January), I think he could do well.
  5. That’s why he is The Jokeman.
  6. The problem with promoting Ducks and Kings as suitors for Jack, is that neither has expressed interest in him (to my knowledge, other than a Dreger tweet). According to the NYC media, the Rangers owner has been banging on the drum for Jack for quite awhile now. If this is true, it means the Sabres would get the most from NYR, if the owner is THAT thirsty for him. If they’re offering Strome, Kakko/Lafreniere, Georgiev, and a couple picks, I’m probably listening.
  7. Who else would the Sabres be exposing that is worth anything in a trade, besides Miller? Miller doesn’t appear to be in the future plans, so I’d rather get a 2nd or 3rd for him and let Seattle take someone with no trade value. Zemgus?
  8. Or he is becoming the next President of Hockey Ops.
  9. Certainly sort of sounded like it, without saying it explicitly.
  10. I guess I joined just ahead of you in July 2011. I’m hoping SS will throw us a 10 year anniversary party.
  11. RJ won’t be done yet, and I pray DD isn’t the replacement. As someone said earlier in the thread, there has to be a young, exuberant person out there that can eventually replace RJ. I hope the Sabres are searching, and if they aren’t, I hope posters here are to help with suggestions.
  12. I didn’t see Granato out on the ice. Interesting emotional take on a game that was decided by a goal that went in off of a chest. Sabres led in shots, blocked shots, tied in hits and face offs. What an awful performance against a team that may win the division.
  13. Maybe because they’ve heard whispers that you haven’t. Did you stop and consider that?
  14. Oh yeah? So trade Miller for something before that happens. 🤷‍♂️
  15. Relax. It’s just Jack announcing that he will be taking on the additional role of President of Hockey Ops next season.
  16. Taro, MODO, and GoDD would be my 3.
  17. I’m glad to see I’m not the only Fox fan.
  18. I know that, but @thewookie1 was saying if Jack doesn’t want to play for Buffalo, than he can sit. Just like Peca did. Peca garnered Connolly and Pyatt. Granted, Jack is much better, but are Sabres fans ready for the return they’ll see if a disgruntled Jack gets if he refuses to play?
  19. Kopitar has won 2 Cups. Most people would put Connor and Leon in their top 10, but neither have come close to sniffing the Cup yet. Wilson, to me, has a now rare combination of qualities that most players don’t have. I see Marchand getting top 10 mentions, but somehow Wilson isn’t even top 50? Why?
  20. Isn’t this what the Sabres did with Peca? Also, what does keeping a disgruntled captain do to a room full of young players who might be looking up to him?
  21. Players like Ovi, Kane, Kopitar, and Crosby may be the “old guard” in a young league, but what they bring to their teams is more valuable than a young hotshot lighting up the lamp. In my opinion, that gives them an edge in still being the “better” player (all the while what each of us thinks makes one player or another better is subjective). I didn’t add Tom Wilson to troll. The guy does it all. He can score, pass, hit, fight. I watched his entire team gel together after what he did, and they seemed to enjoy having his back. Not many players can bring a team together like that, it’s an intangible that is rare.
  22. This seems like an incredibly odd take. Houser winning his first two games, sure, that isn’t sustainable. As for the youngsters shining in their other roles for a longer period now, I see that as sustainable, considering they’ve had no buffers to help. They’d only be even better with a more complete lineup around them.
  23. Society is the opposite now. Everyone wants to know everything immediately. People want to be the first to post about it. “Don’t get vaccinated! It’s bad for you! I’m the first to say it!” Social media should be considered entertainment and not based on facts or maybe incomplete facts, or even only complete up to the point that it matches their agenda.
