  1. I’d have to assume his value isn’t “pitifully low” if teams have offered players like Hall and Ehlers for him in the past. Past Sabres brass said no. Sabres fans might be sick of watching him and the team lose for 8 years, but that doesn’t automatically mean no other teams want him. He’s an established NHL defenseman with assets other teams will value.
  2. They already paid to have a team in the NHL way before this.
  3. Wouldn’t this itself be due to recency bias?
  4. I have some pet rocks for sale. PM me.
  5. Who?
  6. This is just wrong. Who are you rooting for? Cooke > Avery > Marchand > McSorely
  7. Dahlin already leads the team in assists. Don’t know what @Thornyis talkin’ ‘bout!
  8. That’s what she said.
  9. Has he been watching the games or only the highlights? There’s a difference.
  10. Did you put the sauce on top instead of inside?
  11. Of course, the city is best known for its deep-fried chicken wings and the varieties of cayenne pepper-based sauces that go with them. But Buffalo has made another notable contribution to American cuisine: Buffalo-style pizza. Characterized by a light, fluffy, almost focaccia-like crust, a semisweet sauce, copious amounts of mozzarella cheese and exclusive use of cup-and-char pepperoni, it’s a style that Buffalo residents swear by. And Buffalo is a city that knows its pizza. According to Arthur Bovino, a founding editor of The Daily Meal and author of Buffalo Everything: A Guide to Eating in the Nickel City, the town boasts more than 600 pizzerias, or roughly one pizzeria for every 428 people. “There are more pizzerias per capita in Buffalo than in New York City, which is kind of crazy to think about,” Bovino notes.
  12. A pretty lengthy post on some of players: https://www.diebytheblade.com/2021/4/26/22391143/buffalo-sabres-draft-guide-april-edition-nhl-draft-2021-scouting-rankings
  13. Interesting. I think McCabe is easier to replace on D (Borgen, Mattias are similar or FA) than a G who leads all-time in shootout sv%. I think Linus is more clutch than what we realize, after watching Jonas struggle here then immediately have success with the Avs. Ullmark has put up decent numbers on a crap team this season when available. Makes me wonder what he would be capable of on a better team.
  14. You think McCabe is more important than Ullmark?
  15. Because Bruce Boudreau and Gerardo Gallante have alliteration names. Donnie G does not have that. Plus Granato means “garnet.” Nobody wants a garnet.
  16. Very excellent points being made here. SoCal has INCREDIBLE tacos that you will not find in NY. There was a joint in Rochester a few years ago that was the real deal, but they didn’t advertise and were only open for a few months before closing. Conversely, you can’t find a good pizza anywhere in Cali. Just doesn’t exist. Buffalo style pizza is the best you will find anywhere - sorry Chicago, Detroit, NYC, and everywhere else. Even my favorite local Rochester pizza places don’t compare to the pizza places in Buffalo.
  17. Captains today are best player on the team. Not the best player at leading.
  18. You are stuck in the old era of captains. The current captains are now the best player on the team, or the highest paid player. Not that I agree with it, but that’s what “captains” are today.
  19. Ask Drew Stafford.
  20. I’m not convinced RK even had a plan going into this season. For such a cerebral guy, he sure came across idiotic.
  21. ROC is where he should be right now, but in a lost Sabres season, I don’t see any harm in him getting a taste of the NHL. And he hasn’t been bad.
  22. I didn’t see 1986 Gretzky in that deal.
  23. It depends on whether Donnie G has them adjust or not. The Rags moved the puck very quickly and well, which continually got the Sabres out of position. The only way to really counteract that is to be aggressive with the puck and attack the puck carriers.
  24. Poor Matti Ice. Being compared to Matt Ellis and called a 5/6 D. He will be MUCH more than that. Just wait.
  25. On a team devoid of veteran talent and mostly youth, that’s very impressive.
